Arizona Tow Pigging Daily Driver

I'm a Dentside guy. 76 Highboy is kinda the pinicle for Ford trucks, IMHO. Don't really know why. My dad had one when I was really little...maybe it made a bigger impression on me than it should have.

My Dad had a 77 with a 400 and 4-speed "granny gear". It was a two-tone green and silver that is to this day is my all time favorite truck!

That sounds cool. "Dentside" is a new term for me. A '74 f250 2WD was my 1st vehicle. 360. 3 in-the-tree. LOUD w/ headers and thrush mufflers. Black, Ranger trim. Blue interior. Fun memories sliding around on dirt roads and in the Michigan snow. Like this but 2wd:

Enough Ford non-sense. This is my all time favorite truck...about a 72 K10 with some REALLY well done fender mods (at least in front). It was at a local car show a few years ago...This is one of those bucket list cars for me...I'd love to find one to work on after the motorhome is done.

 1967-1972 was called the Action Line

Since we're talking about proper names & such...

I like the stepside look..

I also have a fondness for early Chevy Step Sides. I learned to drive on one and they are both ugly and beautiful, depending on your mood! The chain on the tailgate, wooden bed, and 3 on the tree are memories I'll never shake. I was 10 years old and would have to drive my Grandfather home from the bar in a '66 Chevy. By today's standards, this is twisted, but I would go back to that time in a minute to give my drunken Grandpa a hug and tell him how much I appreciated everything he taught me!

I learned on a 66 CJ5 but my grandfather wasn't drunk. But the first truck I ever drove was a 64 Chevy with a 283 & 3 on the tree. I later bought that 64 Chevy from my friends father.
My early driving was a tractor when I lived in AK and I would clear the parking lot of the church my father was the minister at.

BTW the 1960-1966 Chevy truck was called pinched waist. They don't seem to have the same types of names as the Fords. Another tidbit of trivia is that the 1960 Chevy was the start of the C/K line going away from the 3100 designation.

I will relive my glory days like the rest of these boomers: I learned to drive on a manual 1977 F150. It was a plow/farm/woods truck that had been rolled off the road (we lived in the mountains) and had seen some things. It was a great truck that is still in service today for some local road plowing duty.

Anyway, I'm not sure why that's relevant to you and your new truck and what the body style is called.

Nice!
Having just done all that cab work on my 68, I’ll say you need to make a dolly that can flip the cab. The job is way easier when you’re standing up to do the underside work.

…end hijack.

Well I’m falling down the rabbit hole. Ball joints are bad, a steering test reveals it’s all pretty much bad 😂 I’m just going to rebuild all the suspension bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings, etc…

Damn... But better to get it all fixed now and then enjoy the new tow piggy... Just don't have the Jeep & truck torn down at the same time.
