Is my SYE list complete?

Ohhh man I forgot about the snap rings. I wish I had better and bigger pliers at the time.

If we are talking tools make sure you have a torque wrench handy that goes 200 Ft lbs plus. I forget what the exact spec is but it is important to get that pinion nut to JBCs spec for the speed sensor to work. At the time I rented one from Oreilly’s. You can look up the instructions on their website if you don’t have them yet

There is only one set of lock ring pliers there and I don't know the quality.

I don't know how good this brand is but the width of the opening in the handles and distance from the tip to the pivot says they will open far enough to get the big lock rings off.

I’d do it all at the same time. You’ll need a longer rear DS after it’s been tummy tucked. Unless you lift the TC and give the measurement from where it will be after you do the tuck. My rear DS is on the short side because I didn’t plan for the higher clearance TC skid.

If you want the sye kit from jb conversions you need to send them an email requesting to be put on the waiting list with your name, phone number, etc. This is what they asked me to do when I finally had the chance to talk to them on the phone.

I spoke with Tom Woods about this when I was ordering my shaft. At that time my case had the SSSYE but I was still on the stock T-case skid. I mentioned my future plans to tuck and they offered to build the shaft with that in mind. Fast forward a year. I ended up tucking a little further than estimated and the shaft still fit great. Just be up front with them when you order, chances are they can accommodate your future plans too. Can't say enough great things about TW driveshafts!

Worked great for SYE, because they are actually lock ring pliers like they're supposed to be. Snap ring pliers get confused with lock ring pliers too often and it has just made people trying to pick pliers for the right job a nightmare. An NP231 needs LOCK ring pliers and these are them. Hope that helps.

Lock Ring Pliers

Blaine posted some good looking ones too which I did not see (thread wasn't refreshed on my browser) before I posted mine.

I just bought the ones you posted and another set that popped in the search. I don't know the quality of the ones I posted, just know that the proportions are correct to work. Gotta be careful with the ones that have shorter tips past the pivot, they don't open far enough.

Yeah, even mine were tight in a few spots. There wasn't anything I couldn't get or really struggled much with, though. I bought them because the reviews mentioned the NP231.

how hard is it to remove the TC? I'm a small guy so I figured it would be hard to do it with the TC still in
There is some debate over pulling or doing it in place. I've done more than I can remember. My helper has done many as well. We never pull them. He used to and then I showed him that driving the rear tires up on some drive on ramps or setting the rear axle on tallish jack stands so you can sit up under the rig is far easier, he no longer pulls them. No reason to fuck with vent, shifter linkage, or struggle with the two top nuts with exhaust and floor in the way.

Just way too easy to do them in place and you don't have to chase the case all over the bench trying to get the snap rings off and flip all different directions trying to get the oil pump to not be fucked up or get the chain lined up on the sprockets to get the rear half back on.
