I want to go with individual round lights.
I was going to run a pipe with welded tabs.
Then I thought about noise.
I'm sure anything mounted will generate some sound.
Would pipe "flow" through the air best?
Or square tubing either square to the Jeep or possibly pitched at 45°.
Thoughts?

Presuming that you are talking about a windshield frame mount, I think that round would work best. Aftermarket manufacturers have been using round since at least the 60s. The noise complaints only came about because of LED bars, and their cooling fins. Individual lights shouldn't make too much noise.

This style can be adapted to most widths and diameters. I used 1"x.120" wall tube. This has a .75" ID for the bungs.

Idk what @steelhd is talking about but I'd go with round tubing.
The OP said he wanted to DIY a light bar out of pipe. This is a light bar ..

If he tries to build one out of pipe it won't dissipate heat and will quickly kill the LEDs. He will also have a helluva time with moisture. There are aluminum extrusions thst can be used instead. If he just wants to fabricate a something to mount lights on than yea, use pipe or whatever else is handy.

Ya a common term, the one I posted is an actual light bar too.
