DylanM345 build

Dylan - I would be concerned that with the small surface area of the pre filter you constructed it would clog pretty quickly. Compare the surface area to that of the filter in the windstar and you will see what I mean.

Have you tried to figure out why the windstar is letting dirt through? It sounds like there is a problem there that could be fixed.

I know exactly what you mean about clogging. I have no idea why it was letting that much dirt in. It does not leak to my knowledge, but i was getting dusted out very bad last time on the trail. Im gonna check the prefiler in about a week to see if its clogged.

Don't you need to go somewhere that's dusty first? Lol!

Ive always been getting dusted out on the trail and on the street too if I have my AC on. Using the same furnace filter I used for the prefilter, I made a a cutout of one to sit inbetween the opening and the mouth of the cabin air box. This stuff is pretty thick, so I ended up making 3 sheets thinking that will do the job.

So far it does not give off a certain smell, and the fan acts the same. It doesnt effect fan speed either so this is a win in my book... assuming it filters dust etc. ill let you guys know if it works
Curious to see how it works for you. Whenever I used my fan I'd always get a face full of dust for the first 2 seconds. Followed by leaves and twigs

Really hoping it works. I hate getting a blast of dirt to the face. Also makes cleaning the interior a PITA!

I think its safe to say im an official member of the bent currie club 🥳

Where did you go to make that happen?
Down to visit @02GreenTJ at cal poly. Somewhere in the woods on a random trail. Pretty fun. It happened due to being open i was spinning the driver f/r tires, slowed down and gripped up, slamming me into a rock I was trying to get over. Tires were aired up and it was wet, and I slid right off of it and landed on the tie rod. wasnt expecting it since it was mainly a dirt road with hardly any obstacles.

I've been meaning to change mine for 2 years. The lower on the downpipe got to close to the exhaust and burned through the wiring 2 years ago and in a pinch I added a crimp to it. Completely forgot until I saw your post 🤫

Same here. As far as I'm aware mine haven't been changed by the PO and my Jeep is currently at around 175k. I've never thrown a code regarding them though.

Neither have I, even when one of the wires was completely severed. 🤷‍♂️

Figure it should be done though and maybe it'll bring my gas mileage up from 13 mpg to 14. With current gas prices I'd take anything I can get. It's bad when the 3/4 ton gets better mpg towing the jeep than the jeep gets on its own power.

I used to get 15 when I bought the jeep. Still got around 14 avg when I rebuilt the motor, but it deteriorated pretty quickly. I now get around 11 :( Hopefully this bumps me up a tad
