I know there are plenty of threads on here about different soundproofing products and applications. My question is: does anyone know of a mass-loaded-vinyl product (MLV) designed to handle the temperatures of an engine bay? I'm curious not only for the Jeep, but for other applications like boating.

I've seen a few MLV products that are rated to 180 degrees which I'm not sure if that'd work for an engine bay, especially a TJ but there are ones with a aluminum layer added to them that are rated higher.

They do also make factory-like firewall insulation sheets if you'd be interested in that?

Sure, do you have a link to those?

I don't know how long it would last in the hot engine bay but rolling up a couple of small leftover pieces of the MLV and shoving them in your ears may help when driving your Jeep like your profile picture shows (no top and windshield down).

Back when I drove on the highway a bit more I really did keep earplugs in the cup holder. I found I could hear the music better.
