Can I run these wheels and tires without ripping off my fender flares?

I got this nice 2006 rubicon that I installed a 2 inch coils+shocks lift, I'm running stock moabs 16 inch wheels. Now I'm looking to get into a bigger tire and u was looking at 265/75/r16. So I also have a 1 inch body lift that I bought. These days it's hard to find a good tire that's available. I guess there is a shortage . So my question is if I add Bl onto the 2 inch lift that I have, what size tire can I run on stock moabs without ripping off my fender flares? Also if anyone has this setup, I would love too see some pics!
 
2.5" spring lift +1" body lift running 31/10.5/15. Not exactly the same but very close. 265/75/16 is 31.6" x 10".

I added 2" of bump stop on mine when I just had the spring lift; never had any issues, and of course none since adding the body lift.

I have been very happy with my Duratracs. They are offered in a 265/75R16 load C. Previously I had a 2.5" suspension lift and 1" body lift and I switched between 265's and 285's with no interference from the flares. I would highly recommend cycling your suspension as the fenders are not always the 1st point of interference. Ensure that your bump stops are set correctly for your suspension and then determine how much more room, if any, you will need for the 265's. Rokmen sells a 1/2" body lift if you only need a little room or there are several 1" kits available. This was mine several years back with the 265's installed.

According to this Tire Size Calculator

My 235/85r16 Duratracs are 31.73" x 9.25"

The 265/75/r16s are 31.65" x 10.43"

With the 2" lift I don't think you'll have problems.

I'm running the stock Moab wheels and no lift. I have had some rubbing on the lower control arms but not enough to bother with. If I feel the rub, I just back off the turn a little. I also noticed that the outer edge of the fenders, where the fender flares are mounted, has met the tires a few times, maybe when I have the sway bar disconnected, IRDK. I never even noticed the slightly bent fenders until I was spraying Fluid Film for the winter so I'm not worried about that either.

Here is my 1998 TJ Wrangler with a 2" suspension lift and running stock 16" Moab wheels. The tires are 265 75R 16 (32") and fit great. This is in fact the largest tire you can get between the stock spare tire carrier and stock bumper without adding an additional body lift.

I have an 05 rubicon with 2” lift and 1.25 body lift. It’s more than enough for my 265/75/16 (considered 32) inch tires.

My Jeep originally came with Gamblers.

A few years after I got my Jeep, I added the 2" suspension lift and purchased 32" tires to go on my Gamblers. But they wouldn't fit without rubbing the suspension, and I didn't know about wheel spacers. So I reluctantly purchased a set of aftermarket "bullet hole" wheels with 3.75 backspacing to fit the tires. At the time, I thought it looked cool with the wheels sticking out from the fenders. Over the years, I began to think they looked stupid and impractical on a relatively stock-looking Jeep. And I am not a fan of aftermarket wheels.

I considered going back to Gamblers, but I didn't really want to use wheel spacers and I didn't want the tires to stick out from the fender flares.

The [painted] Moabs are a simple, easy to clean OEM wheel that allowed me to run 32" tires without any problems and keep them under the flares. The Moabs *are* a TJ wheel, and I prefer the slightly more narrow metric 265 75R 16" tires better compared to the fatter 32 11.50 15" tires I had.

At 3” overall lift you can run a 32” tire or metric equivalent
 
I have a 2" lift on my LJ and have 265/75/16 Load Range "C" Goodyear Duratracs. I don't have any rubbing issues.

@reconeTJ - I'm from Canada 🇨🇦 too and usually get my tires at Canadian Tire. Duratracs go on sale about every 3 or 4 weeks. I bought the same tires except 245s for my XJ about a month ago. They even say "Made in Canada" on them. (y)

That Jeep looks a bit low to have a 2" suspension lift with 265 75r 16 tires.

It looks like it is still at stock height. What brand of lift is that?

That's definitely what it has. It's just a 2" pucks and stock springs. They have 165,000 kms on them (a little over 100k mi.) so maybe a bit worn but not bad.

Here's my TJ with no lift and 245/75/16s for comparison. I've never put 265s on it but I think it would be tight.

Or maybe my Pro Comp 2" lift springs are a bit high? In looking back at the pictures in this thread, my 2" lift looks more like the other Jeeps with 3.25" lift and the same size tires.

I don't know what the dimensions are for a TJ but there's an easy way to check stock height on an XJ. There must be on a TJ too.

On an XJ, you measure straight up from axle tube to the bottom of the uniframe rails (that's the term Jeep used vs. unibody). If you have 6.75" up front and 8" in the rear your suspension is stock and there is no lift. I have a 2" lift on my XJ and the numbers are bang on - 8.75" front and 10" in the rear.

If you know you have no lift and your numbers are less than the above you can be sure your springs are starting to sag.

Anyway, my LJ runs fine. No bottoming out, no unusual road noise, good even tire wear, no bouncing, no leaning, etc. It sees some off road use but nothing crazy and nothing that would have damaged it. The above pic is about 3 yrs. old - about 75,000k mi. I took the one below last summer and it actually looks better!
