Also, for what it’s worth the half doors for JLs are kind of a joke. They barely look like the half doors we are so familiar with on our TJs due to the lines. Save a bunch of weight though for sure!

I'm pretty sure I can find old posts from our dear leader @Chris that echo the same sentiment 🙂
You wouldn’t be wrong!

That’s why it’s very unfair in the news when they dig up tweets from people’s past. People say things all the time they later realize were stupid.

In all honestly though, look at the JL half doors. They sure don’t have the same visual appeal the half doors do on a TJ.

Idk, I’ve been spending some time on jeep.com and the JL half door thread on their forum, they look pretty nice to me, not cheap though!

The partition in the soft windows are a little silly, but the doors are not half bad as I was expecting from your comment. Is this how the production soft windows look from the factory? I hope bestop makes a slider like they do for older jeeps. The half doors are larger in size like everything is on a JL, but they do stop at the rear tub line just like the TJ half doors do. TJ is a sleeker looking smaller vehicle than a JL and from a different era of design and customer demands. Can't really compare the two.

As to the unfairness .. that's why one shouldn't tweet things that they might regret later :) It is easy to broadcast stupidity in much less than 140 characters. But as long as there is acknowledgement of past mistakes and actual learning and growth over time, it's a good thing.

Buddy of mine didn't understand half doors. Didn't understand why I wanted a set...said, "toughen up, run with no doors, or be a pussy and run full doors."

time passes, and I get a picture of his jeep with half doors...Dick sniped em from me, in my backyard. When I asked him why, he said he was tired of getting mud in his jeep. So..I promptly called him a pussy. LOL

I ordered half doors with my JL. I though the guy I quoted above could only "assume" the doors came off.

I am still working on half doors for my LJR.

It is absolutely certain that the people on the JL forum know nothing about actually working on their Jeeps comported to you guys here.

there isn't much in all of automotive history that has the same visual appeal as half doors on a TJ for that matter.

It's hard to believe that they were brought to us by the same engineers that created the shovel on the very same rig

It is truely mind boggling reading the comments over there sometimes. No technical expertise

I remember you saying you thought they were a fair price at $1K each! I like them so much on the LJ I was not going to miss out with the JL.
