If you can (and it’s getting really tough is to find) for the early TJ is the seal kit with the drill templates. Keep one of the old fir trees so you can align the template and mark with an auto punch.

Yeah 98 and some 99s came with the door seal the used a channel. After that they just relied on a pop in fastener to hold in place. Chrysler update seal kits included the drill templates.OK I must have missed it but what are the drill templates for? Sorry.
EDIT: Should have waited, New weather strip. I guess I should look at mine.

Only thing you can do with a 97 is look since they did so many weird things with them,What about 97 models?
I ended up using the stock hardware on my rear mce fenders. I just redrilled the inner fender mount to line up with the factory holes. I did have to drill a new hole for the lower most front mounting hole.Rear MCE flares finally arrived after a long backorder. As others have pointed out the hardware that come with them leave a bit to be desired so it will probably take a few trips to the hardware store before these are the way I want them. That and the Warn flares were not leaving without a fight. Rivnuts and Alaska are not good friends.

Flip side to side?
Few trips around to Fastenal and local hardware store finally found what I wanted. Ditched the drill and taps and went old school with fender washers and pop rivets. To prevent blow off like others have had I drilled out some small fender washers and put them over the grommets. Also local truck shop started stocking PB Surface Sheild so going to give that a try.

Man I tried. I wanted it to be me doing something wrong but the grommet holes do not lie.Flip side to side?
I am going to have to order some smaller ones but these will do for now. The joys of living where I do.I used washers slightly larger than the aluminum post. So far the last 2-3 years, this has kept the flares from flying off on the highway, but still allows them to tear off on a tree or rock.
Odd. I can't think of what you might have been sent. Maybe YJ flares, but I can't think of why they would be different than TJ for the rear.Man I tried. I wanted it to be me doing something wrong but the grommet holes do not lie.
Mines in storage nearby, we can pop into the building and compare sometime this week if needed. I’ve got the rears installedI am going to have to order some smaller ones but these will do for now. The joys of living where I do.
