What did you do to your TJ today?

It does a couple things, mainly changes the angle of the motor, tranny, xfercase from a horizontal plane —- to more of an up angle / albeit not as drastic as the slashes and dashes on my keyboard make it out to be. So, 1. when someone puts in a body lift, the radiator shroud is supposed to be relocated so it doesn't interfere with the engine fan. The MML raises the engine fan enough that you can leave the radiator shroud in its normal spot. AND 2. When someone does a suspension lift or tummy tuck, the angle on the upper driveshaft Ujoint becomes more severe and can cause vibrations going down the road. Lifting the motor a bit and putting the drive train at more of an up angle, reduces the severity of the angle that the driveline ujoint has to deal with thus no more vibration.
Nice… on my Tj I had to do a t-case drop with the suspension lift I put on… so if I did the mm I could eliminate the t-case drop?… or would I have to do adjust other things as well as the radiator and such?

Replaced body mounts on my '05 LJ over the weekend. Amazing how much better the ride is now. No more snap and pop every time I turn or hit a small bump in the road. I was able to get all bolts out without any issues. soaked with PB B'laster. That stuff is amazing at penetrating up the threads!

What brand did you use?

Found this piece of crap in the air intake plenum. The gimmicks people will fall for.

Shopped for a couple of new shift knobs. I know what I want, but haven't yet decided on how to proceed. At some point in the semi-near future I plan on replacing the internal cover and a new leather boot, so might as well do the knob at the same time.

Filled the gas tank; calculated 16.7 MPG on last tank. Happy about that one.

Then gave it a quick bath to clean off the dust and pollen.

I drove mine for the first time since I got my Tundra. Oh my gosh the 4.0 is a dog 😅😅😅 I haven’t owned a vehicle with real, usable power in years. My Jeep has an older brother now!

I shopped for first gen tundras for quite awhile over the last year. Never found one I felt good about pulling the trigger on.

Sorry, one last CJ-related post on the TJ forum.

I had a goal of getting the thing listed, if not sold, by the end of the month. I hate this jeep. My TJ is everything I wanted the CJ to be and more, and with less headache. Anyway, I went to pull it out of the garage for pictures a few weeks ago, but it wouldn't turn over (dead battery?) and no brakes. M/C was dry somehow. Bench bled the m/c, re-bled the brakes, and got a new battery. Still won't so much as budge.

Now I'm pissed. 2 months ago it ran fine (and had brakes). I pulled it out of one garage and drove it under it's own power into the other garage. I would've listed it right then but I was waiting for better Jeep weather. Whoops. I sort to investigate the no-start issue, and I realize that I just don't give an F about this jeep anymore. I've got no voltage at the starter solenoid with the key on, and I have no interest in debugging behind the dash or whatever it would take. So I take 3 terrible pictures and put them on FB marketplace. Like, I didn't even wipe the dust off the hood or take the piles & piles of cardboard off the back.

Now you should remember this jeep is a POS. But it at least had been running and was otherwise mechanically sound. It was rusty as all get out, and the wiring had been bubba'd by the PO. I had planned to list it for $3250 expecting to take less than that. And with it not running I expected to take half of that, and honestly I was more than willing to unload it for half that. So I said hells bells, I'm listing it for $3250 anyway and we'll see what happens.

110 inquiries and 6 hours later I had a deposit in my hand for full asking price. I don't normally misread a market that badly but dang did I leave some money on the table. I don't understand how, I mean, I would *never* pay $3k for a car that didn't run and had rust all over. I don't know if it was the recent inflation, or the CJ market being scarce or what, but if I had known it would sell that quickly I would've listed it a year ago. But whatevs, I hated that jeep for several years now. It's somebody else's problem now and I have the cash to regear the TJ as a result.

TL;DR - What did I do to my TJ today? I funded my next upgrade is what I did.

Loved my old cj5. Took a piece of sh*t and created an awesome leaf sprung rock crawler. My tj is getting there.
