The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

I could see putting a YJ onto a TJ frame/suspension, but not the other way around. You'd get a nicer dashboard that way at least...
From the description, it sounds like it has an OX locker up front. Similar hand throttle setup to mine.

Yeah, I don't know of any cable-actuated locker ever offered other than ox.
The rig appears to be solidly built... just a bit goal and color scheme challenged 🙃

I'm pretty sure he's talking about a cable actuator for the axle disconnect that came on the YJs.

It looks like his is most likely the "RT Off-Road Secure Disconnect Lock Kit"

Earlier this year, I installed this cable actuated system in my BIL's 1 ton Cummins Dodge but, sadly has yet to take it off highway.
They work pretty good, compared to the vacuum actuator they replace. Gives you a simple 2 low option, that is unless you have a manual locker up front. The biggest issue I saw with people that ran them is they didn't bother to periodically check the adjustment for cable stretch. They would end up with only a partial engagement of the collar and bad things can happen from that.

Yeah that's what I fear with his. If he doesn't take it out this summer and use it, I really don't want to adjust things in the middle of winter.
And because of the issues that he's had with his vacuum op. system, it damaged his inner shaft and collar and I had to replace them.
The other things that were replaced were all the TRE's and stabilizer. He was concerned about the price of all this but the labor was free from me and it was close to Christmas, so my Wife and I told him... Merry Christmas Tom.

Bro, that is  So Philadelphia! I would definitely make an offer on the Commander in the background before considering that mess. Why the smurf do people put those smurfed up wheels and low-pro tires on smurfin Jeeps?

Something tells me dude was try'n to impress the Smurfettes in the Mushroom hood! They call him "Pimpin Smurf" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Me thinks that would be a newer Liberty in the background, (Bigger fenders)

Caught me smurfing...bottom line is that I have no smurf in this smurf for any of these three vehicles 🙃

Generally I like the truck cab conversions... but damn, the rear end of this thing is about as attractive as watching a cow give birth.
Assisted or unassisted birth? When you need to run what is essentially a jack to get the calf out things get interesting.
