20 years of incrementalism or Blackjacks 98 SE

Well two calls and a couple emails later with Daystar and I am waiting on confirmation that they are shipping a flare. Not holding my breath. I got the general feel that this is a batch problem from January.

Correct flare finally made it.

Well breakup is finally winding down and got a chance to see how the new flares and splash guards worked. The flares are an inch narrower than the Warn that they replaced but with the BFGs they just get the job done. The splash guards helped but I am going to have to make the flare extension work after refinishing the rocker guards.

After over 20 years of service it is time to retire the old Warn kit bag. I decided to give one of the ARB flat bags a try. Also grabbed an ARB snatch block to update as well. The ARB block has a deeper sheave that works better with synthetic rope. I have always carried a length of high strength chain but I think I’m going to go without and see if I really need it. The new bag is a snug fit underneath the rear seat which is what I was looking for. Might have to pick up another for the tug strap and extension line I have to finish.

What are your impressions of the BFG KM3’s? I’m about 3k into a set. I decided on them due to a better snow rating than many other MT’s as well as their smaller diameter for gearing issues. Would love to know your thoughts. 🍻

Road manners are good they have gotten a bit louder but nothing to be upset about. Worthless up here in the winter like any other MT. Need to get more time using them on the trail but they do fine on two track and the beaches up here.

I am sure I will. It was just hard to justify the fifty bucks when I have a boat load of screw pin shackles that work just fine.
Gotta keep up with all the cool kids!

As of yesterday I have all the parts for the Warn breather system.

Gonna try these Amazon flavor of the month grab bars and see if I like them before ordering the genuine article.

If those grips say Off-road they are just like my $30 Amazon ones. 2-3 years running and they are as good as new. My wife and I love them.
These say Wildboar and they seem decent. They have a bit of flex just above the stamping.
