Dollars and no sense...

That’s a nice one, looks almost identical to mine but mine is a Milwaukee brand and it’s red. That’s tempting...

I really like the Milwaukee brand (my saw, drill, and grinder are Milwaukee), but in a toolbox, I need more of the shallow drawers than the Milwaukee box provides. I just got back from inspecting the Kobalt 3000 series 41" set-up more closely. I really like that one. The seams are fully welded at the corners, whereas the lesser models are just folded and spot welded. Also, the top is double-wall, making for a very rigid lid. The top section is shallower, but I don't have cordless tools, so no need to use that area as a charging station, as it was supposedly designed for. Lots of large bracing in the sidewalls, too. While it's not as large as the Husky 52" (same price), I feel the build quality makes up the difference, Also, I am going to try and pare down my collection of tools to a more reasonable/sensible level, and the slightly smaller box might help expedite that action. Waiting for the manager to call to tell me they found the black set that inventory says they have. Otherwise, all they have is a few white (!!!) sets left. White! Looks sharp, but in a garage...?

Remember, if you get one from Lowes or Home Depot, they will give you at least 10% off the asking price, all you have to do is ask.

If you buy it online at Lowes.com, I have a 10% off coupon (good for anything) that I'll be happy to give you if you want it.

Good way to save some money!

I have never heard of that before. Now, this is already a sale price, so would they do that? Either way, Chris, I want to thank you for your generosity. I will look into it, and go from there. I'll let you know what they say. Thank you!

Yes, they will do it, even if it's on sale. I just bought a new dishwasher from Lowes.com last night that I've been watching for months now. It's $800 but it was on sale for $599. I used a 10% off coupon and got it for $540!

Okay, PM you later this evening. Gotta head into work, now. Again, I really appreciate your generosity, Chris. I'm floored by your offer. Thank you!

Well, as you said, all I had to do was ask! The salesman reacted in a "(sigh)...Where do they hear this from, anyway?" sort of fashion, which I found to be rather humorous. So, out the door at $591. Thank you so much for the tip, @Chris. You ROCK!

Oh, man!!! Truer words were never spoken!!! And what guy here hasn't gone out and bought a replacement tool because it's faster than trying to find the "lost" one? And besides, what's the worst that can happen? You end up with more tools? It's a win/win, as I see it! :D

Nice! They have enough margin built into those boxes they can afford 10% off. Funny thing is, most people just don’t think to ask. I always like to wheel and deal when I go shopping for expensive things.
