What did you do to your TJ today?

Completed the Trektop Nx install on Monday. Can't lie.. it was far easier than I expected and it was installing on the JK. Temps never got over the recommended 72F.

Opted for Black Diamond. PO had installed a REALLY cheap, poorly fitting replacement top that was brutally loud. The frame ratted when folded back and I disliked the Denim. Fit is spot on perfect.

A few shortcomings...
  • There are no elastic straps to secure a rolled up rear window. I do that often. It's all or nothing
  • Not sure what to do with the plastic stiffeners in the quarter windows. They are going to be a bitch to contend with when rolling up the windows. I removed them completely on my JK and will likely do the same. Have to live with it a little.
  • I do wish the underside of the top deck was black. I have a few rattle cans of Vinyl and Cloth paint.. Maybe...

I can honestly tell you I wouldn't run that!!!!! Probably get me shot where I live!!!!!!

That's the reason I carry a gun at all times. I was driving through Miami at 2 am years ago. I had to stop at a red light. Two "non white" individuals approached my vehicle. I told my wife to look in the other direction so she wouldn't be a witness. I rolled down my tinted window and pointed my pistol grip 18" barrel shotgun at them and said, "I'm out of state and have no problem killing you in a drug neighborhood". They were very pleasant and walked away "very fast".

Nope, I only know of 2 democrats that live in a 20 mile radius of my house. I definitely am not one of them and would fear my Jeep would be shot. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You have to fear for your Jeep by only two Dems? @Hog and @AndyG? Did they quit ducking your Jeep and move on to live ammo? 😘 🇺🇸
p.s. You all seem like great guys!(y)

CHEAP GAS INFO!
Got a new Sam's Club membership for $8 for the year. It normally costs $45. New offer only lasts until 6/27 and is only for new members. My wife has one too. It will be worth it on gas alone. My local Sam's Club gas runs 30-50 cents a gallon cheaper that any other gas station here. I filled up the Jeep this morning for $4.48 a gallon. Pretty pitiful that I would be happy about that when I paid $1.85 a gallon (post Covid) with Trump. I drive for a living and spend over $100 a week in gas now, just for work. (n):poop:

I dont blame you...when it stops being 'fun' and more of a chore then sell and move onto another project..... I had a 1962 Triumph Herald about 25 years ago...loved that car but when I started spending more time under it than in it I had to let her go. RIP stinky !!

Good post.

Looking at this exact top, but the wife really prefers the frame version (hates the angled rear).
I really wanted the get the fastback version, but i found a brand new, unopened model locally for only $500 yesterday.
The guy needs to check the model # to see which version it is, but it almost doesn't matter to me, for that price ANY new Bestop is a steal.

Agreed. Hard to beat a Bestop at that price for sure. I wanted to do away with the bulk of the frame when folded back. I have an InstaTrunk and all the hardware, rear window and deck canvas has to sit on top of that. The fastback looks a ton better on our TJs than it did on my JK.

Thank you. Can't lie.. I am loving it.

Did the Toyota Light swap last night. Liking it so far. Waiting on the 80/100 bulbs to come in. Should be here on Wednesday.
the 80/100's make a significant improvement. I love the pattern of the Toyo kit, but still miss the white hot temperature of the LEDs.
