Washington Naches / Funny Rocks

And now w the jeep I can get out much further than many.
We're only about 1 hour from Mt Rainier, and there are so many places to camp in the foothills.
Thousands of acres I could never get my camper to.
So, neither can the other drones...
That is the beauty of camping with a capable 4x4. I'd almost rather cut off a finger with a butter knife than stay in a developed camp ground. I won't do it.

Our Luna Rover is self-contained with our generator. Go anywhere. Stay anywhere.

I can now get my spare and powered sub in the rear with room to spare for tools. I’ll come up with some kind of shelf and drawer in the end, but for now I can remove the rear seat for trail runs and put it back in for DD. Powered sub stays put. I can’t decide if I want to cut out a section of the WeatherTech mat for the sub or drill holes to get to the nutserts I installed. The biggest part of me says cut the WeatherTech so it’s easy to remove. I’m only 55:45 though.

Looks likes it towable by the jeep? Nice set-up.
My only issue is I want to drive hard, challenge myself, test the jeep, which maybe creates broken parts. So, I really want a camper plus a car trailer. Then I can tow a broken jeep home worst case scenario.

I want a Class A or C that is relatively small but can pull the Jeep. My ideal. But right now I can’t do it. Like you. 😏 Hopefully one day.

Dry wt of the Luna River is 1875lb, so it’s near the limit. I am going to get a brake controller installed and then I think I’ll be safe. I’ll do a few short trips to test it out before I start running all over WA. Would love to take it for this wheelin’ trip. Probably won’t happen though.

Thanks alot. Now I'm looking at a Luna.

I'm getting too OLD to sleep in tents anymore...

This is my idea.

I agree, tent sleeping isn’t as fun as it used to be. I still do it once on our annual trip, but other than that it’s really nice to sleep in a bed with blankets not a bag. I love that setup you posted, I’d look harder into getting one if my camper was crap

@tombicon, I’ve got one more possible weakness to work out carrying the spare, but it’s pretty much there. Wheeled 3 hours with it set up and all was good.

Damn, that looks pretty good. I am curious as to how well it holds up in serious wheeling? Mine still hanging on the gate, and I like the direction you've gone...
That still leaves lot's of room back there, which is important, as I usually carry two dogs. Both ride sometimes on our laps, sometimes in the back. So, that back space is important to us.
Hopefully we're still meeting up in a few weeks and I can see in person how that all ties together.

I can’t drive down Thursday night, but I can head out early and be there Friday morning. I just need to know where and when. I’ll thumb back through this thread. Someone mentioned a good spot. I don’t know any trails. I just see the two play areas; funny rocks and moon rocks. 4 hr 15 min for me.

I know this is LATE in the game and I apologize but I have to back out. I screwed up my leg and am on limited walking/wearing my socket until next week.

I encountered a bit of a problem last weekend, and hoping to have it remedied tonight. I noticed my brakes seam to be a little weird. When I inspected I found a severely kinked front hard line.
I'm currently trying to join a local club, and the leader of the club has an auto repair center at his home. He has all the hard line and bending/flailing tools to correct this. I'm certain I'll have to relocate to hard line to soft line tab to remove it from the same space my pass tire wants to be at a "hard stuff" situation.
Hoping like hell to be done and over tonight...

If everything works out and jeep is back up and operable, I would be driving over Friday morning. About a 2 hour drive for me...

I'll be stopping by to say Howdy at least. It isn't anything major I'd just bruised the crap out of my leg because my socket wasn't fitting correctly.

Glad it's nothing too major. Is there a way to adjust your leg ( excuse my ignorance) or is there a new part on order? Sorry-kind of a dumb question.

Yep going to get some pads put inside my socket. It's just all part of life as an amputee. It's more sore than anything.
