Hey guys, I'm super excited to be part of the forum.

Here's my first post introducing my 04 TJ and presenting a question.

I want to go to a lower ride height. My coils currently measure out to 5" higher than stock in the front and around 4-4.25 rear. I'd like to go to around 3.5 for my 33s. I know I'll have to buy shorter shocks, but will my driveshafts which are custom fit for my current setup be too long? I'd also like to buy coils without having much rake. Anyone have the Jks 3inch coil pack? Does it rake?

I don't know the answer to your drive shaft question, but with respect to the coils you will have rake if you install coils of the same height front and rear because the TJ came with rake. I also have 33s and solved that problem by going an inch lower in the rear. Others address rake by installing a spacer up front, either way you'll have to get the front up a bit to level it out if that's what you want, the amount depends on your setup, for example if you have a heavy front bumper with a winch you'll need more than if you're stock. This is what 3 inch front coils and 2 inch rear looks like with a stock front bumper and no winch:

any idea what those spring were meant or advertised to hold for lift? or who made/marketed them?

sounds like the math says you're only moving about a 1/2" so drive shafts and shocks are not out the window necessarily. you can cycle the sys and check the shafts and shocks depend on where center travel is now vs where it ends up on the new springs.

to me it sounds like the springs are staggered (which is pretty common), not knowing what they were designed to hold makes it pure speculation on how much difference is needed to give the result you want.

if you proceed from the info you have, 3.5" in the back and 4.5" up front should lower it about a 1/2 and keep the rake similar.
get 4 friends. put 2 on each bumper, stand back and ask yourself if all this is worth it. after you see it.

They're Rubicon Express Coils, but my Jeep currently sits level due to the difference in coil height. If I go 4" in the front and 3" in the back, would I be buying different length shocks? My current ranchos are for 4-6" lift. So seems like I could keep the front but not the back?
