Town is trying to boot an adult baby store out

Isn’t there something more pressing for these people to worry about? Doesn’t exactly seem like a long term problem.

This is what happens when we live such comfortable lives. People begin to worship themselves and have all this free time to think about problems that don’t actually exist. It’s mental illness manifesting on so many levels.

We’re a medical supply store.
No, you're a bunch of perverted freaks catering to a bunch of perverted freaks.

Are you referring to the city government or the perverted freaks?

Consenting adults? Paying taxes? Adding to the local economy? Rights of others aren't getting stepped on or over?

If "yes" applies to all the above, who gives a flying f*%^??

I took some time to read through the story.

The business considers themselves a medical supply store which is OK.

But the City considers them a "sex shop" so that's not OK, because of how they marketed themselves.

Even though they will sell the same stuff and only the user changes between the scenarios.

It's much like if Home Depot started a "Build your own sex dungeon" campaign in order to arouse some business, does Home Depot now become a "sex shop"?

I’d need to see the city ordinance.

With a city name like Noblesville, I’d say things are changing.

I know I could probably find a documentary on Netflix about this baby roleplay thing, but I don't really have time....but I'm curious, do the people who wear diapers to dress up like a baby actually...use them? If so, that's nasty.

I'm all for letting consenting adults do what they want in their own homes but I also don't want a strip club or an MJ dispensary opening up at the entrance to my subdivision so I'm not entirely against zoning ordinances. Sorry for caring about the value of the property that I borrowed money for 3 decades to live in.

I have seen zoning ordinances used to bludgeon "those who are different" all too many times. Long before I moved to Florida, there was a case in a town that is 30 minutes away from where I now live where the local city used "Zoning ordinances" to attack people who were having religious services in their own home. They just happened to be non-Christian, I think they're Asatruar if I remember right. It was so egregious that even the local Christians rallied to their support. They eventually won their case after several years of expensive litigation. Look up "Church of Iron Oak" if you're curious - the case gained quite a bit of notoriety in its day.

A bit of a tangent: The suburb type neighborhood I live would be generally termed "Blue Collar" and consists of older homes. Its in an unincorporated area, and thus falls under county jurisdiction. Apparently, about 10 years ago or so, there was QUITE the dust-up over zoning ordinances. People were not being allowed to park their RVs and boats in their own driveways, etc, etc. From what I've read, people had had ENOUGH of this overreach - told the board "You are NOT an HOA, if we wanted bullshit like this, we would have bought into such neighborhoods." Amazingly, the county backed off, and now people are free to park their stuff on their property. As it should be.

This is what happens when moralists get involved with just about anything.

Walmart sells vibrators, adult diapers, baby oil, knives, guns, ammo, beer, wine, liquor, shovels, rope, duct tape and plastic wrap should they be forced to shut down?
