I like the idea of towing my Jeep for out of state wheeling trips. I have come around in my thinking that my 69 C-20 will not have the brakes to tow the Jeep with the drum brakes it has. Roadkill and watching Finnegan's Garage with the OG Ramp Truck, makes me want one. My thinking for wanting a ramp truck is not towing a trailer. Califorication has a 55mph limit on towing trailers and less money on upkeep of a trailer, never mind a place to store the trailer.

I'd looked into rollbacks & ramp trucks before I bought my motorhome. I was looking at towing a travel trailer behind one for long distance trips.
I like the idea but I was having trouble finding anything shorter than a 20' deck/bed.

My thoughts were in the future to tow a RV trailer to leave somewhere close to a trail. The deck length I have not thought about yet.

Maybe like Colt from BleepingJeep who added extra length to a flatbed Ford to haul his 'Zuki buggy.

Shoot. Can't find the Craigslist link for a F-550 flatbed to just add ramps to the rear to load the Jeep.

He wanted a little too much for it IMO. $55K but it had a crate engine in it with a 10 speed auto shift.

I may not even be able to park a rump truck at my house. Darn HOA.

That is the one thing I can be glad of. My HOA is pretty lax. I was having a hard time with the price people wanted for these trucks. I'd looked at a few that were between 2005 & 2010 and they were all asking $45K or more for them.

If the ramp truck is your daily, I'd say this can be accurate...but there is NO WAY it will be less to maintain a complete vehicle to haul the jeep around vs just a trailer.

RINC Why not put some better brakes on the C-20 ? After all half the ramp trucks you pictured had 4 wheel drums......

You two need to stop harshing my gig by pointing these things out.

I have been looking for a K-20 Square. Better brakes, more chance of factory A/C.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I think ramp trucks are sweet and you should go buy one to haul the Jeep. It’s just not going to be less maintenance than a trailer
