What is your philosophy of life?

My philosophy in life now is leave me the f*** alone and I'll leave you alone if I see you at circle k you say something I'll talk to you but I have no use for neighbors stay on your own land we'll get along just fine.

I don't need friends and I don't want friends I have my family and that's more than enough.

Yep. Unfortunately, we have a bunch of slavers, from both the Left and the Right, who want to impose their own ideologies on the rest of us. See the "Baby Store" thread for but one example.

Mine is pretty simple: find your happiness and be good to others. How you define those two things - or figuring out what happiness means to you - can be difficult, but if you are able to do those two things, I think you're way ahead of the game. And hopefully enjoying a fulfilled life.

Live and let live.
Keep your nose out of other peoples’ business unless asked (even then, be careful).

As far as the workplace: Don’t criticize what the other shift did or didn’t do. You weren’t there and don’t know what they were up against.

I can't believe how many times I still have to tell grown men at work this very thing...
Years ago I representing the company that looked at complaints on floors-

A customer was antagonistic one day that I met and asked me if their floor I had a manufacturing defect or if it was workmanship?

My response was “how many people were walking on the floor before the glue dried? “

In other words she didn’t have a clue of the entire circumstances that were going on when the house was built- And really what people often don’t see is that some work is hard mentally and physically- Some days you are pretty tired just unloading the material and setting up.

The issue I deal with is one shift will leave a job set-up to be run, and if it hasn't been run when they come in the next day, or something else was run instead, they get all pissy and start accusing the other shift of avoiding things, or being slackers. I am constantly having to remind them that they weren't there to see what happened. Perhaps a hotter job showed up, and needed to run first. Or often times, the plant manager will come out with a "hot project" that he needs done asap. Stuff like this happens all the time on both shifts, but neither shift seems to recognize it for the other shift.
"Umm, if it can happen to you, why the hell can't you realize it can happen to them, as well?"
Sometimes, the power of reasoning just doesn't seem to exist.

Worker Pride sounds good until it happens-

Basically nobody ever does a good job or gets enough none when you talk to somebody except the person that you’re talking to- It is even worse out in the trades- “ They messed us up so bad it can’t be fixed, It will take $1 million to fix” this even though the house only cost 150,000 to build.

There was a production issue at a plant one time and I can’t remember what they were making but let’s say the goal was 75 units per shift-

The plant manager walked out on the floor with a big piece of chalk and wrote the number that the shift produced at the end of the shift- Didn’t say a word- That shut everybody up and got them busy.

Unfortunately when everything is said and done usually more is said than done-

And what I’m getting at is when we step back and look at the work world it is amazing how much is noise and how much is actually human action.
I’m talking about the hammer swing and hitting the nail. It is actually amazing the inefficiency I see in the workplace and a lot of it can be attributed to cell phones and social media and cigarettes and laziness and all sorts of things- And one of the main ones in standing there complaining about how somebody else did or didn’t do something.

Every now and then people need to stop and take a work break.
