What did you do to your TJ today?

And your nose and your taste buds.

I tried to not breath in any of the fumes , really didn't smell the place up like I thought it might . I did it pretty fast and it did a pretty great job. I rushed the finishing and the paint to get done on time but I will go back and fix it. Didn't make any kind of taste in my mouth . Would have made a great youtube video if I knew how to do that and had the stuff to make them.

I have noticed since I dropped the skid plate 1" to fix the drive shaft vibration that shifting into 2nd 4th and reverse has been impaired . Is there a concern I should know of ? I am going to put a SYE on but not right away. I am braving my first longish trip and I guess this will be a shakedown and a telling if I made all the right moves on my lift. Put plugs new cap and wires , sure starts up better and I could tell a difference. Trans shifts okay but have to really pull it good going into those gears. First Jeep adventure , hope it is uneventful of any trouble . Fresh oil and everything lubed up ..... cross my fingers !

Replying to my own post ...... Update ! ...... Even with the new wires plugs and cap the engine is still ruff at idle but purrs with power. I think the exhaust manifold may be cracked ( fumes ). Also lost left front axle U-joint coming home, barely made it home. This is one of the things that are on the list of things to do of course, so not surprising !

After 5 years of zero issues I'm thinking of getting rid of the TJ for a Rivian electric truck. Oil pressure sensor went bad a couple weeks ago. Replaced that and found a corroded/broken starter wire and fixed that. A couple days later it wouldn't start so I replaced the 7 year old battery. Two days later..click...click...click and no start. I jumped it and the voltage was reading low. It cut off every time I slowed down. Made it to Autozone close by and had it tested. Bad alternator. Replaced that yesterday and no start again this morning. Jumped it and took it to Autozone to test out everything (hoping I got a bad alternator from Napa). Battery, alternator and starter all good. I don't know where to start figuring this electrical crap out. I can't enjoy it if I never know when it will decide not to start. I have no patience for these things. Rant over. 😬
