Any tips on what this might mean? Whenever I idle for too long the light comes on. Once I'm moving again it shuts off.

What does it mean? Big boom coming your way. Too much of this and it's going to be a steam shower and the sounds of a bag of hammers. 😬

BTW in the meantime you should turn on your heat full blast to assist in cooling the engine when temps start creeping up.

Overheating only at idle indicates the fan is not functioning properly which usually means the fan clutch has gone bad. At highway speeds air flowing through the radiator keeps it cool. But when idling, there's no air from driving so the fan has to provide the cooling air flow. Check the fan thermostat for correct operation. Without the engine running, try spinning the fan when the engine is cold, like after the first start of the day. It should be very stiff and hard to turn. It should be easy to turn when the engine is hot. If it's not stiff and hard to turn when the engine is cold replace the fan's clutch.

Yeah that was my initial guess. Does that include the "check gauges" light or does it have to do more with oil pressure?
Thanks for the suggestion on the heat, it's mitigating some!

The "check gauges" light is telling you to do just that because something is out of the norm. In your case, the oil pressure is where it's supposed to be, but your temperature gauge is in meltdown zone. Cranking the heat is just a band-aid to get you where you need to go. If it's overheating, stop driving it and figure out why. Most likely your fan clutch is shot like mentioned above, but there could be some other things going on. Otherwise, if you keep driving in the red like that, you will be spending thousands of dollars to repair/replace your overheated engine.

Thanks Jerry! The fan turned easy with the hot engine and will diagnose for stiffness in the morning. I had all the hoses for the radiator changed earlier this year, you'd think this would've been recommend? I got a long weekend ahead of me.
