What did you do to your TJ today?

I’ve always used an open ended lug nut and some washers to draw them in and seat the splines.

Being my daily driver I don’t use 4x4 that often but I would like a shifter that’s smoother than the factory linkage. Especially when I put the body lift on soon I would like to get a cable shifter. I’ve always heard good things about savvy minus the supply and demand for these old rigs.

Yeah a must if you have a body lift , I don't and never will lift the body but I want a smooth shift , just so much nicer. I have a press but I think I will install them with my ball joint tool. We had to replace 4 bad ones on the axles that are on there and just pulled them on with a open lug nut when we were putting on the springs and shocks . We didn't want to pull the axles so we jack legged it like that and it does work fine if you don't do like my buddy helping me did and grab a regular acorn nut and strip out one of the holes. LOL ! The Savvy shifter was about 195.00 total , worth the 50 or so more than that one , who knows if the other will shift as nice and I know everyone likes the Savvy.

I've been working on my CJ for the last year and a half. It's finished for the most part now.

As for the TJ: I just bought a complete set of weatherstripping for the doors and hard top hatch. Also on the way are new paddle latches.

I have been putting off installing a back-up camera until it got cooler.... and when I replaced my carpet and added a layer of acoustic matting. The carpet set is on it's way. I've had the acoustic matting for a while. I'm taking the Thanks Giving Week off... and hiding in the garage from the Fam!

Transmission lap 7 complete.

Novak's AX-15 arrived around 3 pm. Should have been here last Wednesday.

Chased goats for an hour at the neighbors and ended up shattering my phone screen...on my backup with a broken camera so no pics.

Took about three hours. Getting really good at doing this over and over...now that I have a brand new unit I am pretty confident I am done

New transmission feels right. The rebuilt one from Gear Works in Bend/Prineville felt like a box of rocks.

Took the Jeep for a test drive and didn't loose $50 worth of MT-90.

Get to drive to work tomorrow in my Jeep for the first time since July.

Let's see this CJ!

I just crossed 1000 miles on my Novak AX-15. 🤞

Switched out the rear diff break in oil and put in 75-140 full synthetic Valvoline.
( we used 80-90 full synthetic for the 500 mile break in. I shot the diff cover regularly with my temp gun, and it never read above 135 degrees)

I’d like to thank global warming for providing a sunny day with temps in the high 70s so I could install my new top.

Started to clean my engine compartment , wasn't really all that bad dirty .
First three pictures are before and the last was after the dry clean, that was as far as I got when it started to rain again. Bummer two days off and bad weather.

After just dusting off the compartment and wiping off the dust it is amazing how much better it looked just doing that . I think it will look almost new when I get through detailing it out.

Good job! 👍 It’s not hard to keep it clean as long as you don’t let it go too far. When I wash the Jeep I wash the engine.

I didn't get started good cleaning but I can see it will clean up nice like yours. I put the new headlights in today because I didn't have much time , I had other things to do but I will get back to it. Yours looks like new and that's the look I will be going for. All my screws are shinny not rusted like some I have seen.

2.5 months after ordering my Bartact seats…. They finally arrived 🥳

Damn, that's a long time for black on black. The coyotes for Mrs 72afr's JLU took about 2 months, but they apparently had the zip wrong. Not why they didn't just reach out tho... I love the ones on my TJ. 100% would recommend.

Edit, just saw your location. Maybe not too crazy...

Black on black tactical …had to wait six weeks for them to be made then another five weeks for them to be delivered out here 😬. Glad I’ve got them now
