A lesson learned—keep it light and nimble!

Opened up one of my Christmas presents. At 14W x 15D x 2H, this is without a doubt the best compact tool set if ever had.

I need to stay out of tool stores. I've been wanting this one for a while now and at $179, with Military discount, I gave in.

When I got mine, it became my go to impact on the Jeep. It's so much easier to hold than the big Dewalt I have. The only negative is the clip holding the sockets on is flimsy and the sockets don't stay on all the way. I find I need to push the socket down a lot. Not a huge deal, but something to make sure when using the tool. Great price!

I have the m18 version of that and its probably the single best tool purchase I've made in the last 5 years. Its an amazing little driver, and until you use one, you don't understand how much of an advantage Milwaukee's impact rate is. 179 bucks is a killer deal for a kit, too.

I bought a Rubicon 44 a while ago at a yard sale. It was a gamble, because it had a truss and I noticed two of the ball joints were tack welded. However, the price was right, at $300, so it came home with me. It sat in the garage for a while and today I finally dug into. While there is bad news, the ball joints had been replaced with splinned versions, the locker works great and it, surprisingly, had a pair of Revolution Gear US made 1350 axles in it. 🙂

I'd call that a MAJOR WIN even if the housing is trash you got some great parts for $300. Wish I could find stuff like that out here for those kinds of prices.

This is a case where I just got lucky. Along with the axle housing, I picked up a 2004 Rubicon complete wiring harness, set of Moab wheels, 231 transfer case with SYE, pristine half door panels, and more. I sold the wheels and transfer case for what I paid for the entire lot. :)

Someone has definitely had the carrier out on the 44 front. The backlash felt excessive, so I checked it. This is not good! :(

I'll put the cover back on and start playing with the shims to move things back in place, best I can.
