Well this certainly falls into the strange category. I was walking the dogs and saw this bird poop on the sidewalk under a street light pole. No kidding.

And it was louder by quite a bit than the Artemis!

Are are about 25 miles due west of the pads and was expecting to hear this one but I couldn’t. It didn’t help that the neighbor behind me was using his circular saw.

I guess you were able to hear the booms of the boosters coming back down to?

Yes, and yes. We're about 10 miles away at an oblique angle, SSE. The Artemis was surprisingly quiet - the Falcons, even the 9 are louder, the heavy esp. so. *shrug*

You can hear it from where you are, Zorb? That’s pretty cool.
For those who haven't seen it:
Quiet, yes. VERY BRITE!

That was the exact same chassis and color as my '74 240D. This one is a bit earlier from the look of the bumper, and I think its a 250 (gas). I sure do miss that car, but it had a terminal case of cancer.

I remember as a little kid in the early 60's seeing pics of my Dads mid 50's, 180. Don't know if it was gas or diesel.
What I'd do for some of the classics that he had and sold....

Not my picture but I lived here for almost 3 years as a kid & loved it.

I took this photo as I was landing in Utqiaġvik at noon… in the middle of the day. Right now, the sun is down almost all day in Utqiaġvik, the northernmost community in Alaska as they are in the midst of the polar night— where the sun set on November 18th and won’t rise above the horizon again until January 23rd. Things will be very different in a few months in this community when the midnight sun is back!

This aerial photo was made in late November during a private custom photo tour over the Matanuska glacier. These crevasses could swallow an entire neighborhood of houses. This aerial image was made with a Canon EOS R5 body with a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens at 24mm at f/6.3 at 1/1250th second at ISO 320 (auto)
