Car pics too cool not to share

This is a 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 GM concept car, with a 250 horsepower “rocket” V8 with an automatic transmission. This is a documented, one-of-a-kind General Motors Motorama show “dream car,” one of the few that survived. Craig Jackson, president and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, said in a news release, “While most of its brethren were destroyed after their debuts at GM’s Motorama shows, the gold-toned Olds survived this fate to become one of the most historically significant vehicles of its era.” It was designed by Harley J. Earl. It sold for $3.24 million at Scottsdale in 2005

That's a beautiful car to have such rusty, uncoated headers. I'm out.

:)

Anybody else read the description?

And some are famous because of their owners, like this one. But this ones different. Its previous owner does not have a huge fan-base. For this car was once owned by David Koresh. The infamous cult leader responsible for the deaths of over 70 of his followers and 4 DEA officers at a ranch in Waco, Texas, in 1993.

I saw that. I wonder what the price is? I just don't see it's ties to David Koresh/Waco adding much value, especially since the car has been modified since his ownership.

I wouldn’t pay extra for that myself but there are some people who’d consider that a badge of honor.

The more you look the less you want , A pieced together Camaro that had a pedo weirdo former owner , fine if you could get it for 25,000 , but something tells me they will be asking high five figures for this "RARE" SS427 example.......

Looks like it could be used in an ad for selling back-up cameras...:sneaky:

That looks like what a buddy of mine did to his silver late 70s Firebird (maybe Trans Am, can't remember) except the rear seat was touching the back of the passenger seat. Happening in the days before seatbelts were a mandatory thing, he and his date were super lucky they were travelling backwards the moment they hit that pole.

A cousin of mine made his car look like that black Camaro by being a dumbass. It was a mid '70s Cutlass with a console shifted automatic. The story is his he was trying to show off up town by doing a neutral-drop burnout and in a moment of stupidity, a common theme throughout his life ;), he slammed it in reverse and burned out in the wrong direction right into a pole in front of a crowd. They say he just put it in gear and drove away without even looking at what he did. :ROFLMAO: He also rolled his first car the very first day he had his license. He was that kind of special.

Thinking about him reminded me that his uncle had one of these for almost a year in '69, but his had a black vinyl top. 😍

He passed a cop around 140 and, well, after legal fees and what not, he had to trade that new 440 6-pack for a used 6-cylinder rambler. :ROFLMAO:

He could have done worse...:sneaky:

The love and hate emotions surrounding the Prius are interesting to me. When assessing a machine, I put a high value on function. So, I think that for the primary use of an automobile for many, if not most (I‘m thinking commuter car and weekend errand runner in suburban or city environments) that car is an excellent design (efficient use of space, fuel and dollars) and execution (few car companies do hybrids better than Toyota). Obviously, it’s not an enthusiast or hobby car and I don’t own one, but I certainly would consider it if I lived somewhere else or was at a different stage of my life.

While I can appreciate your viewpoint, I find that it's not actually the Prius that I struggle with, but the owners. I don't really feel like getting into at the moment (no enthusiasm for it, is all). I would drive a Nissan Leaf (all electric) before I'd drive a Prius. And I actually like the first Honda Insight!

I know the group you’re referring to. I’m not a fan of smug/judgmental thinking either though I wish I could say I’ve never been guilty of it on one topic or another🙄. That generation of Insight is kinda cool😎
