Does using this skid on a stock 04 rubicon require a MML or body lift? Does it fit with an automatic?
Thanks, Kevin

It fits with an automatic, but it does require a 1” body lift.

Sorry for the delay. Duty called and I responded. Answers. KMG, yes on the rubi requires an automatic tranny, it’s still for sale. It does not require a a BL, it will fit years ‘04-‘06 Tj , automatic and May require a different hanger bracket for CC hanger which is with the parts. All parts are with it. Another thought, Rubicon model has a pump in the rear and the plate accommodates this with a section that has a well built into it. The other difference is the gusseting on the plate and their location. Once this is sold I will go this route with the replacement for the manual tranny.

I have this stuff on an 06 lj. No body lift had to dimple the transmission tunnel in one spot it came with a “tool” that was I think 1.5”OD 2” pipe cut in half to make the dimple to clear top bolt of transmission inthink

Can you clarify this explanation. When I installed this it seem to push things up and out of sorts. I was concerned about vibes and mis alignments

I am currently looking at ucf’s skid plate. No BL required. I’m trying to avoid the BL & MML due to the increase in height with the Currie 4” suspension lift. A higher COG changes things. I would like to remain as is.

If you use UCFs low-pro mount to get a higher clearance skid, beware of the vibes transferred to body at 500-900 rpm’s. UCF, good stuff and I’ll go that way when I’m ready to get rid of my fat tummy

On my 04 rubicon lj auto I ran this with an ome lift for several years with stock control arms and only really Monroe vibrations. Later I put Jks front and rear adjustable arms all the way around and that made it a little better

Lol. Got it. lol pro is part of pkg. will vibes be remedied with pinion adj? It has a SYE

Unfortunately, no, there is something about the transmission mounts bushings that don’t sufficiently stamp out the vibes. The harmonic range our TJ tubs transmit are produced in the 500-900rpm range, which is idle. Once you hit the gas they’ll go away. If you can live with it, so be it. If not, you might rethink MML and BL.

Thanks. Got it! How bad are the vibes at idle. Enough o annoy or give a genuine concern about collateral damage or more maintenance?

Not bad at all little rumble in the seat of your pants you get used too rof4x4 had a thread where you could get softer mounts from McMaster car but I never followed through

This kit should work on an '03 as well, no? Does this offer any tuck at all? Can you list the part numbers by chance? I'll be in Pitt in a few weeks.

I used to be an Nth dealer for several years. Yes this tummy tucker will work with 2003-2006 frames. You can contact the new Nth Degree and get a mount for a manual transmission so that shouldn't be a hangup there. The break is 2003 & up, 2002 and down won't fit due to the hole alignment for the frame mounting points.
