Portland thieves jacked my truck

I would replace the key tumbler with an RFID push start while it was all busted up.

My daughter has one of those cars that the internet made easy to steal. So I've been looking up ways to secure it better without spending multiple hundreds to have a low paid tech hack up the wiring while trying to install added security.

For now, she lives in a safe area, has a garage at home, and parks in a monitored garage during the day.

Yes I should’ve done this while the cylinder was trashed. Already got it replaced.

I did a search for pedal lock and it came up in the images. I saw those strap locks, but I would want three hooked together for my pedals and a single lock. Preferably with the brake pushed down when it locks to make it hard to load on a trailer.

If I left my Jeep outside, I'd design my own and have someone weld it up.

I think I saw one custom made by welding a bar to the floor. Then pushing the brake in and running a lock through a hole drilled in the bar and pedal arm.

ETA: I guess these pedal locks and boxes are more common in Europe.

Might be enough for the meth heads but the more sophisticated thieves can steal the code from your key, even while it's in your house, and take your vehicle.

Ok i think im going to make my own. It’s seems reasonably robust versus other devices and just might be enough to keep joe fetanol face moving. I’ll post up a design for team review when I get something drawn up. Planing to use SENDCUTSEND and use a locking hitch pin on the back side to secure the pieces. They’ll have to have an angle grinder

My truck can’t possibly have any value being shuttling crackheads. No one buys these parts and it’s a stock truck for the most part.

Youtube has a bunch of diy videos on how to make pedal locks. All foreign. I guess the US hasn't reached that point yet. Or we have insurance to cover us.

I saw they’re English and Indian mostly. I personally have reached that point…

MOTHER FUCKers, in a busy work parking lot, middle of daylight with a mobile theft deterrent camera "island" unit pointed right at my truck thieves tried to steal my truck AGAIN!!! This time my kill switch worked and the truck was still there. I have a bunch of lights lit up on my dash now though, ABS, no blinkers, TBC fault, etc. I have to figure out what went wrong. They must have cranked the engine for a long while with no PCM power supply, hope something isnt fried. I dont know if i should try to claim with insurance or not?? They stripped the ignition out again.

That is terrible. Was this in Portland again too? This is becoming a big issue in the city and it's only getting worse. This is the exact reason I put a kill switch in my XJ since it's always parked outside.

Those are freaking cool.

This was my addition at the ski area today, I’m going to add a wrap on steering wheel so it can’t be undone by cutting the steering wheel.
