I'm pretty fed up with ridiculous shipping charges. I'm trying to buy a 25 dollar part and every where I look, shipping is like 15 bucks...standard, run of the mill, ground shipping. Its stupid. Quit trying to make your shipping department a profit center.

Rant over...

Most places these days have shipping factored into the prices. However, I know what you mean. Sometimes I see a very small item (touch up paint for instance) and they want $15 for shipping. I think to myself, “I could put that in a flat rate USPS priority box for $7 flat”, not to mention those boxes are free from USPS!

UPS won't ship a small box next door for less than $9.00, they are also adding in for time to pack, box and packing material....although I feel UPS has been raising there rates in the last few months. I just find the PO a pain to ship with and no real time tracking

USPS is the way to go when it comes to flat rate priority mail boxes.

Yep. When you find a "deal" be sure to check shipping. Many companies up charge shipping to offset their "deals."

I get the $99. Back 3 or 4 times each year in shipping cost savings. I also make sure the end price can’t be beat anywhere else.

Me too. Not to mention how much I love ordering something and getting it 2 days later. I’ll also add that in most cases, upgrading to next day delivery is very reasonable in terms of cost.

You nailed it. It takes a certain amount of time to locate an item in the warehouse , get it to the packager, package it, do the paperwork for shipping and get it in the computer, get it on the truck...I'm actually surprised shipping is as cheap as it is.

But what do I know, right? I'm still just surprised that it all works as well as it does.

Shipping prices to New Zealand.!!!!..don't get me started :cursing2:

Tell me about it. I shipped a bunch of motorcycle parts to Australia for some guy on another forum, and holy cow that was expensive. He was willing to pay for it though, so I was okay with it.

still amazes me that despite postage prices, import taxes and "admin fees" its still cheaper to have something shipped from the other side of the planet than buy from retailers over here. I have been looking at getting a bowless softtop for the summer
Item (1) US $596.97
Postage US $63.24
Import charges US $172.65
all in its going to cost me £604.90 at current exchange rates.
if I purchase over here its going to cost me £896.82
