Clutch clicks when I push it down

Clicks when fully pressed down or at the start of pushing the pedal?

Loud click like a loose pedal mounting bolt?

Not so loud click related to the safety switch that's checks pedal position?

Mine does the same. Press halfway down and it clicks. I assume it’s the linkage somewhere down the line.

It’s a loud click when push down on the clutch. If I had to say it click midway while pushing on the clutch. Had the wife push the clutch. I can hear it under the Jeep. It drives though.

I can hear it click where the clutch cable goes into the transmission. I can hear it in the transmission it sounds like. It comes and goes. Any ideas?

If the clutch still works properly and you do hear it in the bell housing between the transmission and engine it’s most likely the throwout bearing (TOB) shifting around on the clutch fork, or transmission input shaft sleeve.

It is also possible that the TOB wore through the clutch fingers but unlikely that it would still function after that.

Either way you can drive it till the clutch fails or bring that to the top of your to do list.
I’d strongly recommend getting a luk clutch kit and doing it sooner rather than later. If you let it ride the TOB could start chewing up the transmission input shaft sleeve. For whatever reason that is not a cheap part to replace!

No clutch equals stranded and nobody likes being stranded!

By the way your clutch is hydraulic and operated via master and slave cylinders so no cables to worry about! I’d go ahead and rebuild or replace the hydraulics while doing the clutch. It’s easy enough to do.
