Tried to get my buddy to get a jeep, but he loved my raptor and now he wants one of his own. This one is not loaded, and comes in pretty reasonable considering how expensive these monsters can get.

I hear ya. The supercrew is too damn big. Supercab isn’t too bad. I’d love to have one again haha not gonna lie, but damn they are expensive!

Yep, expensive, and you have to use it for it's purpose. A truck like that wasn't designed to go through the woods or forest service roads. It might work where you're at, but up here, that thing wouldn't even make it onto most trails.

It’s msde for the desert. Baja...trails would never work.

Nephew has one. It struggles on the trails we run. But if there's a need to run 80 mph on uneven surfaces then it shines.

Wow...that has to be about the most base Raptor I've seen. Didn't even realize you could get them without the giant touchscreen, leather, etc. I almost bought one, right up until I started thinking about all those Special Dealer only SVT service parts that I'd have to buy to keep it for the long term. Decided to go FX4 instead.

Yea you never see a base model raptor on a lot. I don’t mind if. You don’t really need all that other crap, but leather is nice.

Yes, I used to have an F150. That thing was way too big for me. I mean it served its purpose for what it was intended for, but I wouldn’t try to follow anyone in a TJ on a tight trail, not a chance!

I would give you a run for your money. My short box with the mirrors folded in with go most places I bet you would be willing to take your jeep. I’m not afraid to scratch up my truck.

It's a very narrow field of use. Yes, you can 4x4 in it. But trying to follow me around in tight trails, or steep off camber obstacles, it gets hung up 9 out of 10 times. Not so much when he locks up, but still.. It's heavy and not very nimble.

But......on sand that things an animal. It was made for that type of stuff. It's a kick in the pants to open it up on a beach that's empty for miles. Or jumping levees that's a blast as well. It eats up the landing like you jumped onto a marshmallow.


Talking about the raptor.....not all trucks in general

I use to have a 1984 Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 460 and a manual transmission and long bed. That was a great firewood getter! Now I use my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. Can't haul as much wood, but can get in tighter places.

The older Tacomas (I used to have an 03) are much better than the newer ones in terms of fitting in smaller places. I really liked the old Tacomas because they were a truck, but they weren't a massive truck like the new ones are. You could definitely go a lot more places with them.

Yep. I would choose my 05 TJR over that generation 6 out of the 7 days a week too. Too many damned sensors on those things, and even though I contemplated getting back into one, I'd be fooling myself to think that I'd find one that wouldn't need a bunch of work done to it. The folks that take care of them don't sell them, so we're left of CraigsAss handmedowns usually :/

Those Tacomas really hold their value too, just like Wranglers. I see them on Craigslist with 200k miles and people still want 15k plus for a 2004 or so. I like them because they're smaller trucks. The newer Tacomas just don't speak to me. They're big, full size trucks, which just isn't my thing.
