A couple of JLs waved at me today

I saw one in town the other day, a red JL.

I've come to the conclusion after seeing it up close and personal, I'm not a fan of this new look at all.

It's weird looking... I just don't like the lines. The front end looks unusual to me, and the windows and doors have lines I just don't like very much. Maybe it will grow on me in time, but I guess I just don't like it because it looks so "modern", and I prefer more classic looking vehicles.

Even if I had 55k cash in my pocket, I wouldn't go buy a JL. I get why people like them, but I don't buy into the hype, or the "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality,

It became a weird looking jeep.
Banana boat bumper is still right in front
The plastic side fender is like European look.
The back side is like the old rovers, again Euro look
I think they are competing with the Chinese Jeeps.

I agree. I know I'm in the minority, but it just looks more like a modern SUV to me than it does a Jeep (albeit better looking that most SUVs). I don't like the fenders, and I don't like those lines that go down the side under the windows.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all Jeeps, I just don't like seeing Wranglers morph into this. Of course who am I to complain? Fiat Chrysler has hit a gold mine with the new JL. I'll bet their sales will be through the roof.

And with that being said... let the angry bird grilles begin!

I’m not gonna say I wouldn’t want a JLR, but I do want to see one in person. A 2 door JLR with a black twill soft top, 35s, 2” lift in the stingray color would be pretty awesome. Now do I want to pay 47k for the jeep I built on the website...absolutely not. I’d take one tho lol.

The only model that looks good to me is the Rubicon. The highline fenders really help. The sport looks awful lol and the Sahara just doesn’t do it for me. The Rubicon 2 door looks cool tho.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Once the soccer mom's and SUV drivers start picking them up in mass, the waves will be few and far between. :p
 
Looking fwd to seeing one wave at me yet...oh hang on I have to see one first lol.
I did get a beep,beep and wave from a JK the other day....even my girls pointed it out and couldn't believe that we gotta wave from a JK !! :eek:
 
I hated the newer Tacomas (2016+) when they first came out, they looked so weird to me compared to the 2005-2015. But now I see them everywhere, and they don't look weird any more. Now they are starting to look good to me. Time will tell. I still think the JL is better looking than the JK, but I have yet to see one in person or even on the street where I live.
