What did you do to your TJ today?

Put a lock washer on each steering bump stop, no more tire rubbing as advertised.

I was going to replace the ⅜" fine bolt and nut with new, but my local Ace didn't have that size in stock, so I did it with a washer the same way as everybody else. I'll probably eventually replace with new. A quick test demonstrated no more tire rubbing problems at full lock!

Yikes! That unit bearing bolt looks like some future fun.

Please tell me that’s not rust on a Florida TJ😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Its rust. Its pretty much limited to the area in the picture, both sides, all 4 wheels. I think it was from the time the Jeep spent in Idaho and Montana. I'm going to replace the brake calipers and anything else that looks compromised when I install the lunchbox locker.

So many used Warn winches around the PNW...I've got my eyes on a used M8000 for $300.

I remember eyeing up a new M8000 with steel cable for a little over $500 when I first got my Jeep (and had no other money but the monthly payment...) ..... Oh, how the world has changed. [Still sitting winchless and prices on everything.... :(]

Glad you have that used stock around you! Those M8000s were the affordable go-to / entry Warn for so many.

Thank you I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone. I’m healing up and hopefully done with surgeries. I have a couple doctors appointments this morning so maybe they’ll go well and I can get on with physical therapy and get my hand working again.

Glad to hear it! You've been in such high spirits - glad to see you are carrying that with you into recovery!

Merry Christmas to you and your family! May the New Year bring you a swift recovery!

Going back to 15’s because these were $80 for all 5, pluse old school more meat cheaper tires, lots of DA sanding some primer and violla, poop brown, or what krylon calls nutmeg, (I was trying to match the soft top) might go Massey Ferguson Grey, either way I’ll be free of the PO’s adapter spacers…

I just finished the same “upgrade “ myself. Went with Charcoal for the color and Interco Super Swampers 35x10x15 for the true Old School Pizza Cutter look. And I’m more than happy I’ll throw in some daylight photos tomorrow if O remember.

When i replaced the heater core, I went to the auto shop on the corner and had them empty the refrigerant from the AC system. I'll fill it back up when it starts to get warm again. What bad things could happen if I accidentally ran the AC without any refrigerant in it?

Ok maybe not that 😂
but running it without refrigerant can lead to damaging your ac system.
Happened to a mate of mine over here on a more modern car, cost him some big $$ to fix
