What lift size for 33" or 34" tire?

Ya, I'm going with the 2 inch JKS lift and a 1 and quarter inch JKS body lift. 265 75R16 Duratrac tires on 16x8 rims, 4 and a half inch back spacing. 4.88 revolution gears and trutrac front and rear. Somebody's alloy axles...don't know whose yet, but 27 spline. That's this year's budget.

Anybody know what lift size this might be and what these wheels are?

How wide are your fender flares? i have stock flares and it looks like i would need about 8" to cover my flares.

Mine? I have the stock Rubicon fender flares which are 4.25" wide. My tires just barely, barely stick out over the edges. I'd say about .5" to .75" is how much they stick out from the fender flares.

I'm just asking because I'd also like to run 33s on my TJ, but what about gearing and ability for the axles to handle the larger tires. I have Dana 30s and I like to think I wheel sorta hard, Will they stand up to some abuse with 33s? Would I also need to consider a re gear?

30 up front and what in the rear? What engine and tranny?

Here is a great write up Chris did on lifts. It will help guide you along with all the advice you will get from others. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/a-beginners-guide-to-lifting-your-jeep-wrangler-tj.733/

What I mean by 'comfortably' is that for instance, you can fit 33" tires on 2.5" of lift. Here is my TJ with a 2.5" OME lift on 33" tires (this is before I went to the 4" lift):

Notice how much less fender clearance / gap I have in these photos versus the ones I posted before with the 4" lift?

Well, that extra 1.5" from the 4" lift made a huge difference.

So, you can put 33" tires on 2.5", but the problem you'll have is that if you like to do a lot of serious off-roading you're going to reduce the amount of flex and wheel travel you have due to the lower lift height.

You'll most likely have to increase the amount of bump stop with 2.5" of lift to keep the tires from hitting the fender, since they're a lot closer.

So yeah, 2.5" of lift and 33" tires will work just fine. However, if you want to take it off-road and get a decent amount of flex out of it, I'd stick to 3.5" to 4" of lift personally.

I'm speaking from experience as well, since I've had both 2.5" on 33" tires and then moved up to 4" on 33" tires.
I'm reading this as I'm sitting in the tire shop getting 33s installed with a 2.5inch lift.
