Whomever created the blasphemy called the Rubicon Locker system should rot under a pile of deflated moldy plastic ducks. I've been troubleshooting them on/off for over a month and I'm not going to waste anymore time on it. I'm rewiring.

I've been wanting to add an Auxbeam switch and now is the time to do that. The circuits from the PDC to the lockers are good. I pulled the relays in the PDC, jumpered the wires (bypassing the relays) and the pumps work. So I'll open the PDC and tap into the locker relay wires and run them to the Auxbeam. That will be a lot simpler than relocating the pumps plus I can then use the ABS tray to mount the Auxbeam.

I want protection against doing something stupid (which I excel at) and want to limit the lockers to 4Lo. I'll do that by using a Hall Effect switch on the 4WD shifter. When in 4Lo, the HE switch will provide power a set of relays. Then when the appropriate locker button on the Auxbeam is pressed, if in 4Lo the appropriate locker pump will be powered.

I'd love to use a sPod BantamX as it has a provision for triggers that the HE switch could be connected to ... but the price for an sPod vastly exceeds on Jeep allowance and wouldn't survive spousal scrutiny.

This sounds too simple so I must be missing something.

If you're stuck on only using it in 4lo, you could set up a momentary switch that only gets pressed when the shifter is in that position, and energizes or grounds the circuit. Might be a bit simpler.

or mount the sensor on the lever and put a magnet at the 4Hi and 4Lo positions. @macleanflood 's solution is mighty appealing.

Only thing I would do differently is 3d scan that spot and build a gauge/switch pod to hold two 1 1/16" Glowshift pressure/temperature gauges (fuel, oil) with the locker safety in the center. Bonus if I could squeeze in a few more USB charging ports.

I concur with Mac. There are certainly times when lockers in 2 hi or 4 hi are a benefit. I wouldn't complicate it by trying to build in a lock out. Just my two cents.

For instance: Burnouts and donuts. The one wheel peel is very embarrassing...

🙂

Just ask @D's Jeep Wrld ... 😀
Did someone say burnouts.....AND DONUTS🤩

Yes indeed! Its is very damning and very embarrassing 🤣
Trutrac for the win😁....However when crawling it gets a little tricky sometimes when im bound up because I have to finesse the brake to get the thing to lock up but it's something I got used to fairly quick

But I love it on the street! It lets me have fun and it lets me drive like a normal person (it somewhat acts like an open diff)

strange you should mention extra USB ports.

Reality check, just on or off, don’t complicate it when it’s not necessary.
