Hi from a proud new owner of a 2006 Golden Eagle. Completely stock, 135,000kms and in pretty good nick. I've only had it a couple of weeks so still getting to know the beast but so far so good. I've owned a series 3 Landrover and a 1983 Range Rover in previous years and currently have (well at least my wife has) a 2012 Forester but it has been about 10 years since owning a real 4x4, and I guess a TJ is about as real as it gets!
Anyway just thought I'd say Hi and looking forward to living the TJ dream.

You guys can get all sorts of cool vehicles down there in Australia that we can't get here in the United States. However, I still think that a Jeep Wrangler is the coolest vehicle you can own.

Welcome to the forum, and enjoy the addiction! We've got quite a few members on here from Australia including @Daz7 and @Maso.

Hmmm...interesting TJ. I’m curious about the front bumper. Those end-caps that tie into the fender and flare, were those on there when you got it? I’ve never seen those before.

Good looking Eagle!

Here are a couple of pics. Haven’t had much time the last couple of weeks sorry it took a bit longer than I hoped to get them up.

Yes they were there when I got it and seem to be on quite a few later model TJ's here (in Australia), I'm guessing it is an attempt to make them a bit more aerodynamic!

Those end caps came on all European and Australian market TJs. The exported JKs have a very similar end cap.

I was going to say that I've seen some other rigs from "across the pond" that have that same set-up. Hey @AussieShane, how about a pic of the rear of your fine ride? It looks as if you might have an OEM mud flap set-up that we don't have stateside, as well.

I've never seen those wheels before. Anyone know if they are OEM, and were they available here in the states? I don't recognize them, be they OEM or aftermarket. Good looking wheel. Understated, but nice.

Those pics did the trick. Thank you! I think those rear mud flaps aren't a regular stateside item. Does make me wonder if they could have been an option, perhaps, that could have been ordered here. Also, besides the European tail lights being different than ours (I like them, by the way), is that lone red light attached to the rear bumper a rear fog light? If so, I imagine that had your TJ been a left-hand drive, it would have been on the other driver's side of the vehicle. ;) Very nice TJ. Congratulations on your purchase!

They are a factory wheel indeed. Ecco wheels are common. The color might not be but you can definitely find them on eBay and Craigslist.

Very common on XJ’s BTW

How are you supposed to roll over big rocks with those mud flaps without tearing them to shreds?
