What iPhone app do you use to track and record trails?

FWIW, I have an Android device. I've tried All Trails, Backpacking Lite (sp?), and Map My whatever, but didn't like any of them. I'm kind of liking Maprika, at the moment. There is an i-phone app (Motion X?) that is not 'droid compatible or comparable that looks EXCELLENT.

Do either one of those apps mentioned support importing GPX files? I’ve seen several trail sites that provide GPX files for trails. Would be nice to use those directly. Was considering this app: GPS Tracks by DMorneault https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gps-tracks/id425589565?mt=8

Anyone tried that one?

Gaia can import GPX, but it's a little awkward.

Avenza is slick, but built to get you to buy their maps, which are actually quite good. I found it very difficult to use with raw GPS data, though.

I don't know about the GPS Tracks app you mentioned. Personally, I like ViewRanger, but there are a lot of GPS apps out there. It's worth comparing a few to see what works for you.

I’m not sure which formats Gaia imports. I’ve downloaded trail maps from various websites though and imported into it. If you send a link to a website with a GPX format I can try it and see.

I’ve not tried the other you asked about. Only tried Gaia and it did everything I wanted.

Track Kit is what we used on our property....we printed these maps from it to hand out to our jeepers. When you hit the trail, sign into the app, choose the corresponding map and you’ll appear on the screen and it’ll show your progress.
