What did you do to your TJ today?

I bought seat warmers. My wife has them in her Grand Cherokee and they were awesome during our trip to the mountains last weekend. I picked up the Tech Era Carbon Fiber Seat Kit that I have seen recommended a handful of times thoughout the forums.
 
I installed these seat covers i bought from another member, they fit surprisingly great. I really wanted Bartacts but they are pricey.

Swapped my half doors for my full doors and assembled my Bestop Trektop NX. I absolutely hate that roof. It just plain doesn't fit and it leaks through the rear window like crazy. I've had it for a year and a half and I can never ever get it to fit right no matter what order I put things on and no matter how hot it is outside. I'm looking forward to the day when I can just run my hardtop in the winter and keep it topless in the summer.

But anyways, Jeep heads to the shop tomorrow for a huge amount of maintenance and upgrades so I guess I can't complain too much.

Weird. I have a Pavement Ends frameless (budget version BT) and have no issues like that, none at all actually.

My trektop is an absolute pile of junk. I've never been more frustrated with my Jeep in my life. One of the zipper holds has broken, the top has a bunch of fraying stitches, and it just doesn't damn fit right. I don't understand how anyone gets these things to fit on their Jeeps.

yeah I am surprised to hear that also, Mine has been awesome other than a zipper got stuck closed and ripped off the last time I was removing my windows, but a call to bestop and I had a brand new one in two days.

I think it was a defective zipper because it was clean and relatively new. but bestop took care of it.

But my top fits perfect and I have little noise and no leaks.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, but if it is really a year old, I bet bestop will warranty it for you. I would call them.

I think some called that an operator error.

I probably should call besttop. At this point, it is about 19 months old so I don't know what they'll do for me. It has never fit right since day one (it took me 2.5 days to get it on the first time). I thought I was installing it wrong, but I've followed their installation video word for word and it still doesn't go on right. Hell, I've even parked it out in the sun on a 90 degree day. It went on a little better that time, but still not how it should have.

yeah maybe you got a bad one, Seriously never had a problem with mine fitting. It fits nice and tight. My old traditional top wouldn't stay in in the corners, this one stays in the corners nice and tight. If it is cold at tall I release all of the straps and pull it up over the roll bars to start the zippers then I pull it down over the roll bars and zip it up. Takes about 15 minutes to put the top on max now after about the 5th time. Still fits good.

I would definitely take pictures and let them know it never seemed to fit right and see if they will just send you out a new one. You are the only one so far that I know of that is complaining about it. That is not a jab at you in anyway but maybe proof that you just got a bad one. They are really good with working with you.

Honestly, I agree with @Chris that the traditional tops look better, but I really like the NX because of the ease of remove and replace. Mine comes off way faster and easier than the traditional top. Especially when it comes time to remove the bows. It goes back on in minutes. A little longer depending on how cold it is, but that is the same with the traditional top too.

Keep me posted. I am interested how this goes. Talk them into a new top.

I’ve got the Trektop and it fits well too. There is an order of operations that will make life a lot easier when buttoning it up. I can see from the pictures that your zippers won’t close on the rear window. It’s easier to zip those before you snap the windows into the last part of the tub rail on the bottom. Here’s my order of operations starting with already having the top connected:

1) Undo the header latches and push the front of the top up just a bit. This relieves the pressure on the sides and rear and makes the windows easier to get in.
2) Slide the top of rear window into the J hook, if you remember where it’s centered best that helps for getting zippers started later, otherwise you can pull on it later.
3) Connect driver side window top zipper and zip only 1-2 inches. Then move to the zipper connection at the rear window and zip only 1-2 inches.
4) Connect passenger side window top zipper and zip only 1-2 inches. Then move to the zipper connection at the rear window. You may have to pull on the rear window to get the zipper connected. Zip only 1-2 inches.
5) Connect both driver and passenger windows to the door surrounds. Don’t connect them to the tub rails just yet.
6) Fully zip the top zippers of both driver and passenger windows.
7) Connect the driver and passenger windows to the tub rail up to the point where there is a split in the plastic piece that goes into the rail. (This is near where the pull is sewn into the window)
8) Connect the tailgate bar to the retainer clips.
9) Fully zip the rear window on both sides.
10) Finish by running the remaining parts of the rear windows into the tub rail and under the retainer clips.
11) Reclamp the header latches and attach all the Velcro parts.

I wish that worked for me. I have to fight for dear life to get the tailgate bar to clip in when the front is connected to the door surrounds. And none of the zippers zip all the way even with the tub rails are disconnected. I don't put the tub rails on until the very end. It is damn near impossible to get the corners of the tub rail portion on, but I can manage.

Another interesting thing I've noticed is that the rearmost clip on the passenger window that goes over the rear window clip will never reach. It is hard to explain, but the driver side clip reaches past the rear window clip just fine. The one on the passenger side won't reach over the rear window clip. I think there is something wrong with either the top piece of my roof or the passenger side window. I've fiddled with this thing endlessly in the summer heat and it just won't damn zip up correctly.

To try and clear up what I'm saying, you can see the clip I'm mentioning in my second picture above (the one that isn't clipped in on the right of the photo). That clip won't reach far enough left to fully engage. You can also see how the velcro on the top of the roof will never fully engage in the first photo. The top of the roof isn't able to come down over the rear corners of the roll cage. I'm left with a significant amount of velcro hanging out.

I took them off for another project and liked the look, then was pleasantly surprised when it made the top go on much easier. Was worried about flapping, but everything is the same even at highway speeds.

I took my rear roll bar pads off the first time I installed the top. It was inches off with the roll bar padding on...
 
@jodomcfrodo, sounds like something isn't right with the top. I'd give them a call, even 19 months later, and see what they say. Mine is tight as a drum, doesn't flap, and has been in heavy rain and snow without a hint of a leak.

Oh yeah same with me, my roll bar pad was almost vapor living in Arizona that I removed mine too, and l also liked the look so I didn't replace them.
