Retractable side steps for TJ

So i was thinking there has to be a way to add a retractable side step that could still be strong enough to take a hit from a rock when retracted.

Has anyone see this on a TJ.

Yep, they have them. Only $1799! One guy on the forum has them. He retired from a large tire manufacturer, either BFG or GY, I can’t recall. He went to Moab earlier this year and turned his Jeep over.

Those are perfect. I have a short wife problem. Now to save up and get them.

Wow, that's amazing! And these things can actually handle rocks? I would be worried about the rock hitting it hard enough that the step wouldn't be able to retract out of .

He was doing a lot of up grades on that Jeep hope he is okay and didn't hurt his Jeep too bad.

He was okay, he laid it on its side. They were able to get the Jeep back on the trail and wheel the rest of the trip, but it did suffer some minor body damage.

If i live another 40 years i will never understand wifes. Ask for a trackbar and you have to justify everything to spend $200. I showed her the steps and the cost and she said after xmas order them.

when my daughter was in elementary school my wife drove a 2008 eddie bauer expedition which we used to tow with . one of the options on the truck was retractable steps. all the little kids loved to see them open when you opened the door and it did help my wife get in

I just posted an add here they are small but very solid and tuck up tight against the tub.

Dont they come with a new warn winch and bumper for a few dollars more?

I'm just not quit understanding why some guys on here have to "ask their wife" if they can buy a part for their Jeep?
