Saw this in SF today. Interesting choice for taxi. Excuse my crappy photo.

They probably charge double the rates due to the shitty fuel economy.

hybrid? I thought they just had the V6 and a turbo 4

They are testing a hybrid model. It's a 4 cylinder 2.0 with a hybrid assist.

They've been saying it will get about 22 mpg. Nothing out of this world, but I guess as good as you're going to get in a Jeep short of going full electric.

Hmm I thought I read 33 with the hybrid? I don't know for sure. I ordered mine with the 3.6 because I know that engine works. I didn't want to try the new turbo. But I hear people really like it.

Why even bother at 22 mpg. I get 24 combined in my ecodiesel 1500. I would imagine the jl will do better then my truck once they drop the diesel into it. If someone is purely buying it based on mileage wait for the diesel....

Now I would imagine the cost of a rubicon diesel will be dam close to 60k.

I whole heartedly agree. 22mpg doesn’t even make sense. I would rather just have the regular gasoline or diesel model at that point. Last thing I want to worry about is a battery going bad in addition to an engine.
