Unless it is a severe leak ,I wouldn't touch it , unless the guy at Off Road Connection strongly recommends it.

I have a pair of stock extra side windows and back window if you need one short term...not new by any means .

If the top itself is ok, you can order just the windows also. I did .

I would probably use a product that seals swells a little in oil before I tore into one , then let that wait til you need a clutch one day possibly.

And this is coming from a guy who likes everything top notch and fixed.

Congrats on the Jeep , it looks unmolested . That is very good.

I love the color. Seems more reasonably priced than the $35 k people are asking for low mile Rubicons that are posted here from time to time. If it all checked out I’d probably be all over it at that price.

I may be dead wrong , but usually a jeep like that is just no headaches , especially in that year range ....just maintain and grin .

Hi guys, bought the 2002 TJ. I drove to Tn today and looked it over and test drove it. Mechanically sound and definitely not had any abuse. The rms does have a leak. Should I have this repaired immediately or not. Also has a zipper issue on rear window. Other than that very nice low mileage vehicle. I plan to carry it to Off Road Connection just to have them look it over ( they are just down the road).

Congrats, Charles:)

Now Just-Empty-Each-Pocket - as you succumb to the temptation to fund 47 mods over the next 8 years :jump:

Thanks, I used to own Harleys (HD) which meant Hundred Dollars every time you walked into a dealership. I can imagine the Jeep will be the same but it should be fun!

Indeed so, "fun" is the word:)

On a related note; there is a manual used around the clock, by "mental health professionals" (i.e., those who make money off of other's mental disorders), referred to in its present form as the "DSM-IV-TR" - the industry standard diagnostics and statistics manual (used to "code" people - to substantiate and thereafter generate insurance billing revenue - emphasis upon the word revenue).

I reference the above as one who is credentialed in a closely-related field--a related field which actually focuses helping people get free--versus that of generating revenue (two opposing galaxies).

Back to the DSM-IV-TR; I have formally introduced to the APA (American Psychiatric Association), a new entry, to be referred to in acronym form, as: "TJMS" (Terminal Jeep Modification Syndrome).

TJMS is characterized by those who, upon dumping $40K into a $10K TJ, are yet terminally unsatisfied, and continue to mod the Jeep until their wives threaten to leave them.

:jump:

What makes it suspect for the mental health field is that the average Jeep owner will not stop the behavior!

Most of us would not lie on the couch and say we're going to stop... We would say" I wonder if I should Lift It 2 and 1/2 or 4in. "

Then we would say "have you seen the new JL? Why you would have to be crazy to buy one of those..."

I do believe I may have found a therapy niche here :aplastao:

I just ordered the Bestop Replace a top in Sailcloth. Good price on Amazon, will install this spring. Thanks for the offer.

That’s a nice looking ride. Someone said it perfect, you can’t order one. If you have the funds then go for it! They’re getting harder to find in that kind of condition...not impossible, just harder. Is 16,500 his bottom on it?
