Ha ha, every time there is a major change to the Jeep, it's the same "the new Jeep is crap, the only *real* Jeep is (flat-fender, CJ, leaf springs, TJ, pick one). I can't wait until the JK guys start crapping on the JL saying the only *real* Jeep is a JK.
It's just a new Jeep, in 10 years there'll be another new one.
I'm just happy they're still making them. I've had orphan cars before (Fiero GT, Triumph TR6, etc) and your options for aftermarket parts goes way down when a vehicle type is abandoned. Making parts for the latest Jeep also keeps many brands in business so they can keep making TJ parts too.
I paid $6k for a loaded CJ5 back in the '70s and thought $25k for a Jeep was astounding. Then I bought an Unlimited Rubicon for $26k and thought $55k for a Jeep was astounding. Who knows what will happen next?
