What did you do to your TJ today?

Useful advice! I was thinking it may fit, but I wasn't 100% sure. Nice to have someone confirm it.
I thought it would be too wide, and maybe too long front to back, but it is still inside of the sport bar side to side, and still tight. And, length is fine also.

In the fact of keeping my jeep some what low and running a longer shock I made my own shock extensions

Finally started the overhaul of the stock soundsytem. So far so good!

New speakers for the sound bar vs the old ones. I've replaced both the sound bar and the in dash ones. Head unit is just waiting in the box.

Watched the check engine light come on again... been popping p0300 and p0431 off and on for the past three weeks. Changing one thing at a time and then waiting for it to come back is getting tiring. Think i may have finally beat the random misfire code p0300 as only p0431 (catalytic converter) popped up this time. 02 sensors on the way and then i suspect ill be replacing the shit cats chrystler decided to throw in my baby.

Been fighting a wheel balance problem for months. Had it to two different shops at home try to get them balanced and one supposedly "force balanced" them. Not a lot of improvement! :( After driving from Phoenix to Gallup NM I had had it.

Stopped by Moab 4x4 Outpost and asked the guys there where they take their stuff. They have several rigs with BIG tires. Without exception I heard "Grand Tire" next to the Wendys in Moab. Took several hours but no more vertical bounce!! And, no more of those sticky weights. They went back to the snap onto the wheel rim type.

The day before I found a nasty rock on one of Steel Bender's obstacles. Both driver side wheels got a healthy dose of Rock Rash!

This is one of the benefits of having fake bead lock rims. The rings really protect the wheel. MT has replacement rings for $50 for all four and, IIRC, new hardware.

I stand corrected. Found both type of weights on the wheels. Still no vertical vibration after 1500 miles.

Been running circles with discount tire chasing the same balancing problem Stinger. Choices are pretty slim around here for decent tire shops. Still haven't gotten it straightened out...

What a difference one piece makes in the overall performance of this 4cyl Jeep.

I installed a short piece of insulation around the 4.0L engine's #3 injection per a TSB (technical service bulletin) which is for 2000-2004 engines. It took about ten minutes from start to finish.

http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wj_1803103.pdf

I had recently noticed a minor misfire after restarting the hot engine which had sat a short while causing heat soak. It felt like a single cylinder misfire and pretty sure this TSB will resolve it. The TSB describes a condition in which heat from the exhaust manifold (header) causes fuel to partially vaporize in the #3 fuel injector that can cause misfires after heat soak This is fixed by insulating the injector from the heat.

I used the specified Mopar shield ordered from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007O3QHDK/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Several reported that not all types of insulation tried were successful with this TSB so I went with the Mopar insulation p/n specified in the TSB. There's nothing to the TSB other than cut the piece of insulation contained with that p/n in half and wrap one half around the bottom of the injector and the other half around the top of the injector, then secure it with a ziptie. The insulation was came pre-split so it just slides over the injector.

This must have been done to my TJ when bought it, because I have a piece of insulation around the #3 injector. I had no idea there was a TSB about it!

Worthy of being it's own thread too!

Installed new u-joints in my rear driveshaft. They were a bugger to get out but finally got them replaced and the driveshaft installed.

Installed the 1.5" Buchanan seat risers, and the Bartact seat covers I ordered. Both top quality, I have to say. I'll post some photos when I can get some in daylight...sorry for the lousy light, it was a little too bright out. Also included a shameless photo of the TJ for no apparent reason...

Once again Chris was spot on, got these iggee covers on and am impressed by their fit. They liven up my dulling 19 year old interior a bit!

Wow, those DO look good! I'm considering replacing my seats (whicha re the original sort of mixed color cloth, but still look okay) with someting tha tmateches the rest of the color scheme, but that's going to cost moulah. If those covers fit that well, maybe a nice set of neoprene covers will work. I'll check 'em out! Thanks!
