Can anyone who has removed the soundbar tell me where the wiring for the soundbar can be removed or where it clips in? It looks like it splices into my hardtop wiring at the base of the rollbar, so I’m not sure how to deal with it. Thanks.

I don't have a hard top, but I removed all of my roll bar padding, and there was a plug on the base of the sound bar on the driver side if I recall correctly.

It runs up the driver's side rollbar inside the padding. There's a speaker wiring connector just below the soundbar on the driver's side.
It doesn't connect to the hardtop wiring. Its wiring just runs down and then forward to the panel above the driver's side footwell.

Undo the Velcro on the drivers side roll bar, reach up above the roll bar and you should feel the wiring. The little tab to release the clip is on top of the plug. Really easy to do :)

You could just roll it up and tuck it under the carpet or something at that point. It ties in to the main wiring loom that goes towards the hardtop and tail light wiring.

So I can just unclip the soundbar at the top of the bar right where the wiring comes out? I only had a quick look but I couldn't see a clip there, I guess I'll have to take the top off to have a better look and to work on it. I could unclip the wiring further down somewhere?

No need to take the top off. Just reach your hand up to where the wires go into the bar after undoing the velcro. You’ll feel the plastic clip and the little release tab on the top. Just push down on the tab with a finger and wiggle the clip out. The wiring is likely taped to the roll cage underneath the padding. You could tuck the wiring back into the roll bar padding and zip it up. It doesn’t disconnect from the main harness though.

I dont have rollbar padding anymore so that's why I'm trying to get rid of the wiring altogether when I remove the soundbar. Also I'm going to remove the soundbar completely so might as well have the top off when I do the wiring too. Thanks though

Ahhh I see. Maybe tuck it behind the plastic piece covering the wiring in the photo I posted above. Or behind the carpet. I would avoid cutting the wiring off because of resale value, just on the chance (God forbid) you ever had to sell your jeep. Just my .02 :)

Yeah think I'll just tuck it behind the plastic cover, not for resale but just in case I reinstall the soundbar. Resale value definitely isn't a concern of mine, this Jeep will be here until I need a step ladder to get in, and then a few more years.

Just an update in case anyone is looking to do the same, I finally got around to taking the soundbar off today and the wiring can be unclipped in two spots, once right where it comes out of the soundbar, and in another spot almost at the base of the rollbar, where it runs alongside the hardtop wiring. I hadn't noticed the second spot previously because the clip was wrapped in foam tape, but unclipping from there and removing the whole length of wiring is better than tucking all the wiring into the plastic cover.

Interesting, maybe I missed that when I added my hardtop harness. I’ll have to check my old harness and see if I have a clip as well.
