Anyone else wish Jeep had built this instead of the Liberty and JKU

i can agree with that. looks pretty great. kinda like a land cruiser style vehicle. I've never seen this.

This was a concept vehicle. Looks good for a overlanding style rig. Spiritual successor to the XJ, perhaps?

Does the rear fender flare open with the rear door? Not sure how practical the rear door would have been.
looks like the flare opens with it.cause there's a cutout on it.

Makes me wish CAFE standards weren't a thing. I wouldn't take it over a CJ, YJ, TJ or XJ (maybe a JK or JL, maybe) but I certainly like it more than anything else they've ever put "Jeep" on.

IF the top was removable, I'm in. Heck even if it wasn't I'd be at least interested. Reminds me of one of the Humvee variants, but better because you know... Jeep.

Sure looks like the 1st gen Liberty with a Wrangler Front Clip grafted on...

I went and looked up pics of the 1st Gen just to see this concept and the Liberty side by side visually. You are spot on here as always.

Wonder if it would have been more popular with the Dakar concept version. I'm pretty sure they did not do the classic grill so that they are not stuck to that shape/form as they are with the Wrangler.

I didn't say it was a Liberty... Just that it looked like one
Without a doubt, it was part of the design process. Imagine a TJ/TJU Dakar instead of a JK/JKU 10 years later. I love following the design process leading up to the production versions. Jeep was obviously looking for an alternative to the Cherokee. I hope they get the Compass right one of these years. Can you imagine a Compass comparable to a Sumari, CJ2, Land Cruiser?

Like the Jeep Icon concept..

Heres another great Jeep. The Commando was a huge success until they tried to make it look modern 1970s. I'm pretty sure the Dakar would have been more successful than the Liberty or Patriot.

I hope the new Gladiator is a huge success. Wish it had a 2 door version.
