In this day and age it's become almost a daily event for someone to become outraged over the smallest thing, then take to Twitter to complain about it.

This thread is for sharing your latest "apology" articles that are circulating the 24/7 news cycle.

Here's the latest one I saw today in my "news" feed:

Now let's see what funny stuff we can find!

Jesus. People are so sensitive.

Heres something I came across the other day.

Made a comment about black people because someone close to him was raped. He spent a week with hateful thoughts, walking the streets, then came to his senses. Now he's facing backlash and hate. What person wouldnt feel the same way he did if a family member or friend of theirs was raped or killed?

I'm not even sure why he publicly mentioned this though. I mean he had to have known there would be backlash. That's one of those things I would have just kept to myself.

He should have, yes. But again, feeling angry about something like that is human, those that wouldnt be upset if something like this happened are the ones to worry about.

this horse's ass of a woman can't get out of her own way to stop apologizing for making, a horse's ass of herself

This one is unbelievable. She keeps apologizing when really she should just stop talking about it.

Saw this one mentioned on CBS This Morning:

IMO, when you have a hammer everything eventually starts looking like nails... plus "transference" as Dr. Phil has said a time or two (I'm forced to watch as part of my job).

Hahaha! Wow! First off, who would wear such a stupid sweater? But secondly, why are people so sensitive that they think this is in some way racist?

If I hear or read the words "twitter backlash" or "twitter responds" NO freaking way, not looking, nope. Screw twitter

In this day and age the funny thing is that the media is constantly citing "Twitter" as a credible source!

It's as if the only thing that matters to them is the opinion of Twitter users.

Exactly, by coming forward and saying it he is telling us we all have likely done things in our past which we are not proud of, things which grew us into the person we are today. Should that limit us from public service? There may be some criminal activities which will restrict our freedoms but if what you did was not criminal, why should you need to resign, why not show remorse, acknowledge the stupidity, apologize and move on.

The irony is many of the same voices are saying that the VA governor should have come forward on his own and brought this out himself and it would have been "better". 🤷‍♂️ Nothing like contradictions.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...people need to stop taking offence to any stupid little thing..
I think no matter what you say or do you'll offend somebody and get a thumbs up from others..what ever happened to the phrase 'Water off a ducks back'.

My experience is that I am much happier realizing: I can control my own reactions, not someone else's actions. Expecting everyone to cater to you is just being self-centered and lacking any real understanding of being part of a larger community. When we get criticism, the best way we can respond is to evaluate if it's valid and either grow or decide the input is invalid.

He needed to have his "story" or facts straight before he opened his mouth. I wonder how guys who make massive gaffs like this, changing his story every 6 hours, got to be Governor..... maybe that is what makes a successful politician, be willing to change every 6 hours.

But if this is so wrong...... how about the University publishing it? No accountability there eh.

I just realized we are not in the politics grouping of threads, my bad.

Since it seems to be okay to discuss a little more within reason: I fully agree it was foolish to make any statement until the governor had a clear thought and response. It seems to definitely be a reflection of what it takes to be a successful politician on either side of the aisle - a lot of "promises" with little follow-up and a hope that the voters will forget the promises by the next cycle (or the promises can be blamed elsewhere).

I will save my added opinions for the politics subforums to not derail too much further.
