Door stuck

So just when I think I have things finished up this pops up.

Passenger door will not open unless you either press in on the interior unlock switch or have a key in the lock applying slight pressure in the unlock position.

I’ve sprayed everything down and even went as far as bending/tweaking the rods from the tumbler and the interior switch.

Any thought or suggestions? Other than just throwing the doors away!!

Sounds to me like you need to take the door panel off and inspect the door handle mechanism itself. The issue is likely with it, and taking the door panel off while someone tries to use the door handle will probably be very telling if you sit inside and watch the mechanism while they do it.

Yeah it looks like the white arm piece isn’t getting enough upward pull. I read on another forum that a guy added a small spring to the upper rod to keep tension.

Might try some more tweaking today or I could just say it’s a theft deterrent.

Mine has the same problem, it will not unlock unless you use the key. It locks fine from inside. My drivers door is the same but I never try to unlock it from inside. After trying to fix it, I just live with it. I'm thinking something plastic which has just worn out.

My driver door was doing also but with bending the two rods we got it working pretty good, knock on wood!

I think my passenger door is just possibly more worn out.

I’ll try to post an update after messing around with it today.

Th rod linkage has an adjustment on the other end, pull the cover and try shortening to linkage
Which rod?

I have messed with the rod that has threads on it (not threads like a bolt or screw) because that seems to be more the handle and not the lock. The handles seem to both be working it’s the lock mechanism I think is the issue not fully disengaging.

Ok so cross you fingers I think I got it fixed.

I disconnected the linkage marked in yellow and then worked on the just linkage in red. It appeared it was pulling the white arm far enough up. Made a slight bend in it so it would have more force pulling and reconnected. All was working good just didn’t have the interior rocker switch connected.

Then re examined the yellow marked linkage to match the new position. Also made adjustments so it would move more horizontally. Prior it had fairly diagonal movement.

Not sure if this helps or not.

My advice would be to disconnect one linkage and zip tie it out of the way. Work on One linkage at a time.
