Not jeep related but midsized trucks seem to be ruling the media these days. Toyota finally gave what all the tacoholics have been craving for years. Army green will be the 2020 TRD pro color. Pretty excited to see this. Should look similar to the pic attached.

That's a good looking truck. Like the color on the wheels too.

I would love to see a TJ repainted in that color.

I've been eyeing the 5th gen T4Rs for a while. Almost willing to give up the Rubi for one. Almost. It wouldn't take much of a nudge...it's very hard to beat the current Toyota 4.0L V6 used in the 4Runner.

Yeah if my Jeep was a daily, it wouldn’t take much of a nudge for me to get a taco haha. I could make a sweet overland rig out of one. But the Jeep will be more flexible in the long run :D

It's getting rarer and rarer for me to get out wheeling any more. Seems a waste to not use the Rubi for what it was designed to do. As I've gotten closer to retirement, I've thought long and hard about simplifying my life somewhat, which may mean paring down the number of vehicles. I don't really use my Tacoma as a truck much anymore, either. Both my vehicles share the DD duty and both the Rubi and the Tacoma could equal the cost of a 2015-2017 4Runner. That's pretty much the only vehicle in my mind that could replace both. I'd pick a 4Runner over a JLU any day.

I strongly considered a new 5th gen T4R before I found my TJ. Even test drove a new one. That engine has good power. The only thing holding me back was the price ... I still occasionally wonder if I made the right choice.

There's so many 4wd T4Rs for sale around here, I could sell my Tacoma and Rubicon, buy a late model 5th gen T4R and pocket some cash. Very tempting.

This is why I sold my TJ...andcto pay for my wedding lol. I need/want 1 DD everyday vehicle. I don’t want to go back and forth between 2 vehicles. The army green taco is high in my list right now along with the ZR2 and gladiator. The gladiator is gonna be priced to high I’m afraid. I honestly like the looks of the Tacoma the best. Such a neat little 4wd truck.

Access or double cab?

Sit in one before you pick, obviously. That was the difference for me...that and the weird throttle response of the Taco. ZR2 has a taller, steeper windshield. I'm 6'2" and felt like I really had to be careful getting into the Taco, due to how far the windshield lays back.

Even the double or crew cab (4 door) is tiny. Coming from a full size, I don't miss the width in the bed so much...but I miss the room behind the front seats! If you're not used to a full size, it probably isn't as big a deal, but that is where I notice the missing size the most.

FWIW, @Starrs ...When you do get ready to purchase...Tacos have much more available creature comforts than Colorados. I'm not sure what GM is thinking, but the amount of "nice stuff" I gave up when I went to the Zed is ridiculous. I don't know if they are afraid of pulling sales from the big trucks or what, but no dual zone climate, no homelink, No fancy outside mirrors (mine aren't even heated, though the 18s and up are), No LED lights, interior or otherwise (you can get the Accent lighting, but anything tied into the doors is incandescent) etc.

Its actually kind of a bummer...its not like the trucks are much cheaper. I just wanted smaller but still want a nice interior with all the doo-dads. I spend a lot of time in my truck (about 2 hours a day) and when my ass gets sweaty, I want swamp coolers in my seats, damn it! :)

I don’t want a full-size truck anymore. I had a supercrew raptor and hated the size of that beast lol. The zed R2 shocks me that it doesn’t have LEDs. The 2020 TRD comes with stock LEDs. The interior of the taco is awesome. I prefer the looks of the taco by far. I just wish the power train was boosted a bit more. That’s the only downfall. I’m 5’10.5” so the taco would be the right size for me.
