Apparently attorneys are sending out these letters to JL owners. These are legit letters for a class action lawsuit they are filing against FCA for all of the "death wobble" issues that are occurring with so many of the JLs.

I just laughed when I saw this, because I couldn't imagine getting a letter with "Jeep Death Wobble Notification" written on it, haha! :ROFLMAO:

For the sake of discussion, I wonder how many cases of DW in the JL are attributable to the faulty welds on the trackbar mount that FCA fixed and secondly, how many cases there are with bone stock rigs?

The rest is why folks think knuckle to knuckle tie rods are so awesome.

The funny thing is that nearly everyone on the JL Forums (and apparently a lot of the dealerships as well) are trying to fix the issue with new "upgraded" steering stabilizers  That's what I've been reading at least.

I'm not entirely sure how the steering works on those JLs, but from what I've been reading, it's electronically controlled, so it has to be configured or calibrated (something like that) with the systems the dealership has.

Also, what I've noticed is that a lot of the people complaining about this issue are the ones who went out and put 37" M/T tires on their bone stock rig.

That's the group I was thinking of. I hope they all sign up for the CAL and they and the lawyers get their little peepees spanked hard by FCA.

If FCA has a good legal team (which I'm certain they do), then you can count on it. :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure all the 37's are static balanced because we can't have the good looks of our fancy fucking rims marred by any wheel weights on the outside lip from a good dynamic balance.

Given the rims some of those guys are running, I have no doubt you're right.

That's alright, the common answer to this problem is, "You need to order a dual steering stabilizer".

These threats of death wobble class action lawsuits demonstrate why snowflakes shouldn't be allowed to buy Wranglers.

Last I checked, people can buy whatever they like; doesn't matter if I happen to agree with them, their decisions, or how they make them. That being said: if there's a legitimate issue that's not being handled by the manufacturer, a class-action lawsuit is a viable method of repair and restitution. I don't know the facts of the case and don't particularly care because I don't own or drive a JL and don't know anyone that does, but if "legitimate issue that's not being handled by the manufacturer" is not the case, then yeah...FCA will probably have a field day with it, and rightfully so.

All the JL guys will be installing dual stabilizers and new shocks to mask the issue, just like the Ford truck crowd.

What's the problem with that? It's not like you can hit highway speeds when you're trying to pick up chicks in the mall parking lot!

Lemberg Law has a page dedicated to complaints about the JL. It's kinda funny to read:

I leased my Jeep Wrangler JL in July and I too am experiencing “loose steering”, an inch or 2 of travel that does not start to move the tires. Called dealer to make an appointment, she laughed and asked “first Wrangler?” Follow the appointment I was told nothing was wrong, it’s just how they drive. That may well be true but it doesn’t mean there isn’t a serious problem.

If you wanted a Cadillac, you should've bought a Cadillac.

I think what some of these asshats are failing to realize is exactly what you just pointed out... it's a Jeep with solid axles, not a Cadillac.

If you put 37s on it, how do you expect it to drive? Especially if they're M/Ts, over inflated, and have an E load range.

I think a lot of the JL owners would otherwise be driving an SUV, so they're expecting the more refined driving style of said SUV. While the JL does offer much improved ride quality over a TJ, it's still a friggin' Wrangler.

Wow I didn't realize the wobble was happening to JLs....I should let my coworker know since she got one symbolically.

Already had to tell her how to shift into 4HI the day after she bought it when it snowed since she almost got stuck..... in an inch of snow..... with a wrangler:rolleyes: lol
