JT Gladiator April Sales

Where is this information coming from? They sold way more than that. Hell, that launch edition sold out in less than a day, and that was 4190 of them.

I'm sorry I meant to put that in the heading...the jt gladiator forum.

it's hard to say where they get their data and of course the thing has not built up a head of steam.

April’s sales were to select people and media, etc.

So 314 is not an indicator of failed sales 😂

“All that hype and they only sold 314.”
Ahh, I can hear it now.

@Chris you are right, Fiat sold out in just two or three days IIRC.

The next few months should be more of a reflection of general pop sales.

Will you be posting JT sales and their direct competitors sales for the next few months?

Would be interesting how Tacoma, Colorado, and Ranger sales are impacted because of the JT or not impacted for sake of argument.

It would be neat to see what kind of momentum it gets.

If I can think to do it I will.

I really don't know how long the vehicle has to be released before they start to see some sort of norm... But I would be willing to say that no vehicle first month sales are much of a predicator of it's future success.

people have to see them and drive them and think about trading and pretty much go through the process...

Also historically vehicles don't always do as well the first year as they do later. I think that's just acceptance by the marketplace and people getting familiar.. and that's going to be the case with this because it is a different vehicle.

I have no doubt whatsoever they'll sell those things like hotcakes since "trucks" are the "in" thing nowadays.

Of course when you look at what a fully loaded Rubicon model costs, all of a sudden you'd be a LOT smarter to buy a Chevy Colorado (which I would if I was looking for the better of the two trucks). A lot of the magazines seem to agree with me on that as well.

Helpers brother bought the Colorado 2 years ago new. Based on his experience with all the bullshit that went wrong with it, I wouldn't take a free one. I ain't got time for all that shit. To put that in perspective, he is now driving a new Toyota and he is not the type to trade in a vehicle every two years.

I think most of us are going to have a shaded view to some degree because we are Jeep fans... And Jeep fans tend to be hot or cold on whatever is going on.

When I look at this objectively it is a very unique vehicle... Really to the same extent the four-door Wrangler was and still is .

I'm not being positive or negative, I'm just saying let's see where it goes.

I have debated whether I would purchase one or not if I felt like it fit the bill... I'm the kind of person that I would probably take the money and buy five more TJ's .. and that's just because I'm that crazy...or that stupid .

I just cant get on board for this thing. Trying to pull together too many worlds into one.

Oh yes, how did I forget the Tacoma. I'd take one of those any day over the others. Assuming I was looking for a truck of course.

My thought as well. I like a nice truck, and I like a nice Wrangler. However, when you merge the two, it just doesn't work for me.

Clearly we're in the minority here, as people are emptying their wallets and taking out second mortgages just to get these things :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, folks have been doing that for new vehicles every since second mortgages have been able to be had. That or a HELOC.

I will tell you what is exciting... We have something hitting the market that has really never existed at least not to this scale.

You guys post whatever you want to post, this thread is just my way of saying this is one to watch.

This may be an important step in the evolution of the Jeep line... Or it might just be an offbeat vehicle... Or somewhere in between.

That's true. I feel like when the next big bubble hits, it will probably be due to auto financing / loans

I had a problem separating with the $ to purchase my 18 outback and I got a great deal on it. It is fun to watch the reaction from everyone on it. Longevity will be the key. I didn't think the 4 door jeeps would last, so what do I know.

You are probably right, but it reminds me of the CJ8 craze. Trucks are the hot market right now so the timing is better now than then. I hope it does well for them.

"Big" is a relative term

It's hard to call automotive lending a substantial bubble. The chance of us seeing anything remotely close to the housing crisis of '08 from the automotive industry is pretty thin. There may be a fiscal cliff of sorts, and some pullback from the market, but doubtful it'll be comparable to '08.

IMO, a bigger risk to the industry at this point is autonomous vehicles!

Drove to the coast today. I counted 9 Raptors. 9. And new ones, so ‘17+....those start at 60k...most had soccer moms in them:

My wife and I make good money. I want a raptor. Honestly; we make well into the 6 figure range and cannot buy one. Same with these unless you go baseline.
