Anyone been keeping up with Savvy’s LJK build? Looks like an awesome project that could have a lot of off road potential.

This would IMHO be the best off both-worlds. The classic TJ look, but a JK drivetrain.

I can tell you from having owned both, I like them both in their own respective ways. The JK though is undoubtedly the better driver and far more comfortable too. However, it will never have the classic TJ looks.

Totally agree, and the LJ is the perfect length to adapt to the newer, longer wranglers. I’m excited to see it come together!

Maybe it's just me and my point of view, but I don't understand the benefit.

An LS/HEMI/whatever engine swap into an LJ I'd think would be much easier if extra HP is what you're after.

A frame swap or repair would be much easier if you're trying to fix a broken frame.

For any offroad performance that you'd gain, you'd have been much better off building off the existing LJ frame.

Maybe both were free but each had issues and together it's whole, but even then you're spending SO MUCH in labor it's probably not worth it.

I know there's people who don't understand my build either so maybe it's a matter of point of views and I simply can't understand.

Exactly. I like my JK a lot, but I really miss the looks and simplicity of the TJ immensely.

I didn't think that dashboard would fit in there with the JK being much wider. It's hard to tell if they cut it down on the sides to fit or not.

How would it be any more comfortable? An LJ can be made to be very comfortable if desired.

Simply referring to creature comfort - not ride or tech. There’s just more aftermarket support for JK and newer things due to popularity. Don’t get me wrong, and LJR is my dream vehicle. But this is pretty cool. I guess the right term would be “modernized” interior. Again, I like the TJ and LJ look more, but some perfer the jk dash and layout, steering wheel, vents, head unit, CarPlay, whatever

The further I go, the less complexity I want; it's also been done before, several times. I'll give this a solid "Eh, whatevs.'

This is revolutionary to me lol. I love it and would take one if they plan on making customer builds, but that’s essemtially buying 2 Jeeps. Gonna cost a fortune, but so damn cool.
Right, I think it could still be cool to just swap the body and all the TJ/LJ stuff over to just use the JK frame and suspension.
