Not exactly a home run.

My quick google search shows 7 different midsized trucks available. If all sold equally, which we all know they won't, it would be 14% each.

Considering that the Gladiator isn't the typical pickup truck, or Jeep, 7% seems pretty decent.

Will it go up, or down? Only time will tell.

My prediction was that it was not going to be a run away seller , as far as producing numbers like the Tacoma . (18-22,000 per month)

I never said it was bad, ugly or anything .

One thing I based that on is it has a very polar reception , people either love it or hate it.

I would say that sales are going to stay somewhere in the neighborhood of where they have been 2-4000 unit's a month .

Do I think it will ever dominate the category? No.

I do think it has the potential to endure more than any previous Jeep truck , because of the success of the the 4 door and the fact the buying public is accustomed to the look.

Am I sure I'm right on all this ? No, it's just a post on a forum.

I'm glad Jeep offered another variation on the Wrangler platform/concept, and lifted they will be so cool .

That look may also help sales , once the market sees the potential.

I finally saw one in person the other day and was pretty “meh” about it, I think the Taco looks a bit better stock. However lifted and outfitted I bet they will be pretty good looking, just at the cost of using them like a truck.

Before a buyer leaves the lot I would swing a set of 35” tires in on the deal. Leave the stock Rubicon suspension on there as it is a very good stock setup with the Fox shocks. 35s and it looks way different. Looks like a skateboard with the 33s on there. Tires completely change the look.

He's right .. and really the same is true of the four-door... I was not a fan until I saw one lifted and set up well.

Truthfully every "jeep" ever made looks better with bigger tires... We just get used to it... Even the TJ looks way better with the bigger rubber.

I think generally speaking beefier tires (even similar sized) just look cooler, even on a mall crawl.

But I’m sure as they try to gain traction it would be easy to negotiate some nice things like rubber.
